i've been looking around at the MOA sections with a little drool "thumbsup"

I currently have been running a losi comp crawler and i really do like it... but there comes a time.

I'm trying to figure out if i decided to build a MOA what parts off my losi could i use.

Right now my main question is could i use my ballistic 18.5 brushless motor on a bully axle with good success? I'm currently using it with a mamba max pro 1cell and it performs really well with gobbs of power and smooth startup. But, again, that's on worm drive vs. r&p with the moa axles.

Could i successfully buy another brushless motor and go brushless with bully axles? Is there a way to use my MMP ESC to run both motors?

Thanks!!

no responses?.... i did read through many of the helpful sections and read where most are running brushed motors. Any success at all with brushless?

You could run two BL motors and dual ESCs if you wish.

Most of us in my club use brushed motors and either dual ESCs or a single ESC with a punk dig. Obviously you can't use a single BL ESC with a dig switch which is why most use brushed motors even with BL ESCs. The MMP 1S will work but you may need a heat sink and of course a BEC since it doesn't have one, but you would only need one BEC. Sensored systems are a must due to the low speeds of Bully geartrains unlike the high reving LCC.

I had a Losi Comp Crawler and a Tekin 17.5 geared to 13 or 14 tooth pinion on 3 S with an RS Pro which was quite good. Now the ESC is in a 4wd buggy.

With my Bullys I'm using two FX-Rs with two Tekin 55T motors 12T pinions and 3S and using a CC BEC to drive the RX and Servo. The drag brake I think is better but one of our members is using two Micro Mamba Pros with 370 puller motors (brushed) with good results.

thanks for the response!!

OK, i didn't even think about the fact you need two sensor outlets.... duhhh!!! Is that one of the main reasons most are not running brushless motors? I just keep reading that most of the brushless motors have ruff start-up or cogging on everything except either a LCC or a high speed racing RC.

I also know about the BEC and that's not a problem, got a CC one in place now.

I just hate to waste the brushless motor i have now... maybe i can sell it.

y adapter

cant u make a Y adaptor for the sensor outlet. im not an expert but seems like an option. maybe not

I'm not 100% but I am pretty sure It would have a result about like running two stereos into one speaker and playing two different songs. It might work but the music is going to suck!;-)

ok i get it. motor is talking to esc not esc to motor right so you would have two signals going into one. my bad still learning about all this stuff

I am trying to figure out how to make a dig switch for moa brushless that will short all three motor leads together when motor is interupted. I gave up on the idea of using the sensor. I think if the 65:1 gear boxes were used with 2.2 wheels the lower ratio would reduce the need for a smooth start up. If you figure it out you will be my new personal hero:mrgreen:

Dave,
Actually it is a pair of Holmes Brushed 454 Cobalt 16T on that pair of Mamba Micro Pro's with a single Castle BEC. The trick with this setup is that you have to be running pretty light....or you WILL overheat the motors. I dig this setup. "thumbsup" And the drag brake is incredible.

Josh,
Thanks, I couldn't remember which motors they are but I know they are the smaller can.

My setup seems to be good for the heavier rigs, mine is 6.5 pounds.
