Motor Type Survey: Brushed or Brushless

Brushed for me. HH 27t Torquemaster pro. I've got no interest in going fast and brushless isn't something I want to deal with for a while after my Vxl system ruined several lipo packs.

Brushless tekin 13.5t redline with a tekin RS..

After a couple 35t integy's blew the windings off and a 17t HH torque master blew the end bell out, I switched to brushless.

In all fairness to HH, I bought it used as a "27t".. had a friend rebuild it an tell me it was a 17t.. after talking to JRH bout it, it was figured to be a crawlmaster.. well.. its a 3slot and 4s wasn't kind to it.. :/
Really fast tho!! Made one sweet sound at max speed too!

HH brushed in everything I own....except the wraith

13.5 thunderpower brushless sensored with an MMpro...it's my only basher/go fast...has plenty of power. Fair crawling ability ...

I dislike brushed motors, lot of heat, no torque if you want to go fast, and use a ton of power.

All my brushed motors have a TON more torque than the brushless I have in the wraith. And the hottest motor I have is the brushless.

Sounds like you didn't pick out a well suited motor. Mine has way more torque than than any brushed motor that could live in a wraith. Runs cool too.

Thank you! I had my tx set up to only have 15% power, and shattered both lockers, both bevels, and a rrp solid wraith bottom gear.

Pro 4 3300 and RX8 ever since I built this thing 5 months ago. I love this setup and it is very smooth at slow speeds.

And your's is a what ???
My heat issue might be gearing...I've been running 4:1 typically ...and recently discovered that. 5:1 is a better ratio ...all I wanted was go-fast in the wraith...got that for sure.

Also noticed I don't have much low end/torque with the brushless I had from the "on-road" lay over

Educate me Mr. World

What motor/esc?

What motor/esc?

From post #26

13.5 Thunderpower and an MMpro

Was geared at 80/20....now at 80/16....heat issue went away, but also the low end. I don't care about the low end so much as I wanted wheel speed over crawlability. Just saying that the torque is much more evident in my brushed motors. My brushless is a go fast motor, probably has no place in my wraith.
