Hey guys,I give up on california I have spent my 29yrs here tucked in the foothills of norcal 100 mi. North of scaramento, and I've just had enough.
I am married with a 6yr old boy,and a 4yr old girl, and we are ready for a new start, trying to survive in ca is redicoulous(spelling?)Any way questions are; I have spent the last 7 yrs in the oilfield on a smaller triple drilling rig the last 3yrs have been drilling, everything I've read or heard lately is pointing me to grand junction, was wondering how many of you are in the patch or know of any company need ing hands with experience. Or any service companied that might be looking,I have already spent 2 days googling send resumes applying etc.
And also how is the housing situation there? I have wife 2 kids and 2 american bulldogs.
Any helpful suggestions would be great thanks guys

Check colorado springs craiglist. I just saw a few adds for oil and gas work within the last two weeks. Grand junction is heavy in oiland gas as well but a third place to consider is durango co,/farmington n.m., there is tons of natty gas down there.

Thanks billygoat, I appreciate the advise, I drill for nothing but nat.gas right now.done a few oil wells as well pretty much the same get down

Um, well not many people here in gj get on rcc, some do though. But i do know that there has been quite a few rigs going back up in the last few months, not sure on what companies though. When googleing, use the cites between gj and denver along i-70 as well, like debuqe, rifle, glenwood springs, etc. Because most of the rigs are up through there and i know a few of the main offices are located through those cites. Sorry i can't be much more help maybe someone else can help clue you in somewhere.

Hey Boosted check out these companies. I sell Industrial tools to all these guys on the western slope.

Oxbow Mining, National Oilwell, William Field Services, Gunnison Energy Corporation

Hope this helps your Family out. Natural Gas is really getting big in Western Colorado.

Northern Co. is fixing to take off as well... I have a neighbor that says some of the big guys have been buying up land north of Greeley and some are hiring already.

First thing to do when you get here is go get yourself any firearm that take hi cap mags!!

:flipoff::flipoff: California!

There may be a few in the GJ area for drilling... Nabors, Hiemriliech and Payne(H&P). For other jobs check Williams, Encana, J&A Services, Marathon. You may have to start as a contract hand with some of them. As far as housing, the rental vacancy is still around 9-10% and homes are still in the 150-200,000 range for a decent one. PM me and I'll try to get you some more info.

I live in Grand Junction and I can try to help you out.
Here is a list of Drilling contractors this could be hiring.
H&P, Paterson, Ensign,
Here some service companies we have here also:
Halliburton, Schlumberger, Weatherford, and there a lot more, I am just not familiar with all of them.

What kind of work would you like to try? Are you wanting to stay drilling or just oil field work in general?

I work for Scientific Drilling out of the Grand Jct. office so I have a quite a few contact in the oil field.

If you want to can PM and we could try to find something for you "thumbsup"
