I always liked the MST offerings and was considering one for a new project, but Amain hobbies isn't carrying them anymore and im not seeing very many retailers carrying them except for eBay and some overseas sites. not much activity on the board here either, are they dying off?? discontinued or???

Their last crawler release dates back December 2022 on a chassis that is now around 8 years old ... looks like they are mostfly focussing on cars, that's their main business afterall.

They haven't gone anywhere, but they arent doing a ton of new stuff except bodies now and then. Amain just isn't shifting much MST so they seem to be phasing them out. Its too bad as it was cool that they picked them up.

They still have lots of crawlers, definitely old chassis designs but very cool body options https://www.rc-mst.com/product.php?class_sn=25

You may just have to go to overseas distributors.

Too bad Amain has dropped the brand. Their crawler bodies are typically really well designed.

Love their little CMX chassis and all the Tamiya bodies you can put on it. And the fact the fit and finish along with Plastic quality is on par with the best of them. Hope they don't go anywhere and would love if they produced something a little more scale and maybe a GMT400 body or a dukes of hazard omage of some sort with Hazzard wheels and a car body

I was hoping they would come out with more bodies. They really did a good job on the J45C body.

Anywhere in the US selling parts for these? LOVE my MST CFX-W but not driving it much after I had a tough time finding portal gears after I broke one. Only broke that and the crappy stock center driveshafts. Luckily ones for the Element Enduro swap without issue.

They never really caught on for the crawler segment in the US. I really like their SWB offerings. Sometimes those little SWB rigs are really fun to trail with. I still want to pick up the Delica from them. TWS rigs are really cool too. I'll have to post my build up here when I get the chance.

Didn't AMain drop MST a long time ago? Maybe I'm having a false memory.

The CFX/CMX are really cool little trucks and I would say they are underappreciated. You can drop a lot of the cool, but short Tamiya bodies on them.

MST's are really good as mentioned their short wheelbase and narrow axles allow for more scale oriented builds ... I think what @jato refers is that Amain was getting rid of most of the MST crawlers a couple years ago... but in all honestly anything I have gotten from the brand has been sourced overseas for me.

I think they are really well built understanding their limitations but they are certainly capable little rigs and fun for trail they are not build for comps so you would understand that it wont be a cliffhanger and hill climb killer. They are also easy to work on and even though the transmission on the CFX is sitting a little too high the gearing and drivetrain is well built and very smooth. I built mine with the upgrades mentioned through the builds I read here on this very informative forum... and is one of my favorite builds well its not completely done as we all know, also its fun to drive around my backyard course and to be honest it is more capable than it looks. It wont pull the lines of the Holmes Sherpa build or the 3linkcapra but it is small and agile and can pull some impressive lines for its size and clearance. I still want to pick up their DC1 with the discovery body but too many wants as we all know.

here is my little bronco --- the included body in the mst kit is an actual tamiya product.

AsiaTees can be a great supplier of MST kits and parts.

MST also has a really good small monster truck called the MST MTX-1. Has the same axles as the CFX/CMX. Only realy weak point are the driveshafts.

Oh that's right. It was just the MST crawlers AMain got rid of a long time ago. Thanks for the memory help.

It is awesome MST includes genuine Tamiya bodies. They are the best Lexan bodies in the business.

OSRC's CFX Bronco next to my CMX Unimog.

If I had to give one drawback of the CMX, it would be that they are super light which sometimes hurts them in terms of getting traction and sticking to the rocks. But they are more capable than you may expect.

You used to be able to get beef tubes for the CMX/CFX which helped them grab the rocks a little better, but some heavier wheels work almost as well. The drive train is stout and can take it.

I always wanted the CFX J3 but never did pull the trigger.

I've been waiting on their upgraded metal driveshafts to come back in stock to take care of that before I build my CFX-W.

At least they are listed as for sale at ATees and RCMart..."thumbsup"

Over here in Europe the MST crawler line has always been very popular.
I have a CMX with a Tamiya Sand Scorcher body and a CFX with a Tamiya Mitsubishi Pajero body.

Nice little tip for the CMX. The Element RC Enduro Stealth X transmission fits on the CMX skid, you just have to drill 2 new holes and make some tiny dremel adjustments to the skid.
I have this in my CMX, with the 11.83% overdrive. Element transmission is the same size as the MST one, so a very nice option if you want extra performance. It was sure a big difference with my overdrive setup vs my brothers CMX Sand Scorcher with the standard MST transmission.
