My little girl's slammed wagon!

Most of you may not know but my other hobby is hot rods and my Daughter had been complaining about walking so much during car shows, She's 5 what do you expect:roll:, so after getting some inspiration from the HAMB i grabbed an old radio flyer that was destined for the scrap yard and worked it over a bit

The rear fenders are old baby buggy fenders of unknown type

The steering links are old lawnmower parts, the axle is just bent pipe, the spindles are bent plate and i retained the ball for the handle to keep it looking a little factory.

and here is the chassis before i assembled it. really simple and fairly light.

I had a very tiny budget (read none!) so with a grand total of $8 on it i think I did pretty good.

After i had it done we went on vacation to Ocean City New Jersey and brought the wagon along. i tell you what not only did my daughter love it i couldn't believe how may people commented on it! I had people stopping and asking about it, giving me the thumbs-up, I can't remember how many times i heard "wow check out the low rider wagon!" and people were snapping pictures all over the place! we all loved it and it pulled real nice and smooth.

My nephew especially loved it and wouldn't stop pulling it

eventually we had to just put him in and walk

him and my daughter fit nicely in it

pulled them around all week and the lack of a back was never a problem

There was nothing that could wipe the smile off her face every time we took it out!

I had so much fun with this one that i found another wagon and soon i'll have a pair

candy apple red w/ a pearl white or hammered chrome radio plyer graphic. :mrgreen:

thats pimp. I used to have one that I had body dropt. The tires were actually in the wagon. The way it was done left only a spot between the axles for one kid to sit in. I like the way you did yours. Alot more functional and looks better too."thumbsup"

man that is the coolest thing!!! awesome job on it and the fenders are a nice touch. Sence your building two it would be cool to have a little back rest or like it was a little seat maybe fab up a fake sterring wheel or something ?

Nice, I'm diggin' the drop axle and fenders 8)
I'd leave the paint the way it is - gives it that vintage/rat-rod look. Just add some pinstriping, and call it good.

It might not be "kid-friendly", but I'd save an empty one of those little mini-kegs and strap it to the frame in the front "thumbsup"

Naw.....no spokes...if anything, some Moon discs...
Did add more striping. :mrgreen: Also just painted the wheels with candy green swirls... :rofl:

I had to do a dropped axle, it was the only way to make it look "right". Great idea on the mini keg, i'm gonna need to look for one.

Pinstriping is my next step after i get some One Shot. I need the practice.

I've been wanting a chopper bike for some time and once i get the parts together i'm going to start one.

I know exactly what you're talking about and although they look cool, i just didn't like them and like you said, there limited in function.

I have another set but I'm getting pretty fond of the lack of fenders up front.

I like the paint idea but since this one is my daughters she gets final say about paint choice.

Give it a rust or a flat paint scheme! On second thought, the rust might be bad for the kids. Flat paint, whitewalls and red wheels
