Just purchased this yesterday. New to crawling and addicted already. This is what I know about it so far

Axial SCX10, Gmade R1 cage, savox servo, aluminum c hubs and knuckles, 1080 hobby wing esc, RC4wd motor, losi rock claws 2.2 tires, and a 3000 lipo battery. Wish I knew what the shocks were. I have been busy all morning sanding the roll cage for new paint. Can't figure out how to post pictures

KI ended up going with the axial right now. I bought it from a friend who used it at big buddahs RC ranch and just recently upgraded. I will also get the pro at a later date

I have tore it apart and have been sanding on the body all morning.

Looks like a good starter rig. One great thing about the SCX10 platform, is that there is so much aftermarket support.

I'll bet you are correct, in that you will be getting another one soon, trust me on that one:twisted:

My son got his SCX10 on Christmas of 2014 and it is what he is still crawling with today. It has gone through many repairs, modifications and a couple bodies, but it runs like a champ.

I'll bet you will be just as happy with yours "thumbsup"

How hard would it be to change back to an axial frame and body?

Its do-able with some additional parts.

You'll need the frame rails, scx10.2 has the same rails with the only difference being a few additional holes that you dont need. You could also go for some aftermarket frame rails but that would be a more of a fend for yourself scratch build.

shock towers and new shocks, I think the ones you have a longer than what would be used on a typical SCX10, likely too long as they will cause the tires to rub the body. You want a set of 90mm long shocks (from eye to eye), old Axial shocks are garbage dont seek those out. Traxxas GTS shock are popular and affordable, Element Enduro shock are also a good choice (one of my favorites).

You'll need body posts and body clips (cotter pins for RC) or some other way of securing your body like magnets or Dual lock (industrial velcro)

Depending on the wheelbase you currently have and the body you want to use you may need a new set of links to adjust/correct the wheelbase. It looks to be using the stock Wraith links currently.

Its also possible you need a new skid (where the tranny mounts) but it looks like it could be the right one. the correct skid is about 79mm wide, if its wider than that you may have the skid from a Wraith (the original 2.2" Wraith).

I love the SCX10 platform a lot!! I bought one to convert my old school wraith into an OG 1.9 Wraith and had so much fun playing with it that my wraith sat on the shelf for months! Now they are my go to crawlers for getting outside. You can buy a frame rail set for the scx10 at a good hobby shop. Good to have another TN guy around here, Chattanooga here.

That's nice. I haven't started the build yet. I'm looking forward to starting it once I figure out what parts I want to get. Rich gave me a good foundation to start with

It reminds me of my latest build, finished a few days ago. Injora cage, and spare scx10 parts I could scrape together. The motor is new, though. It turned out to be extremely front heavy.
