My new speaker system...what you think?

It's great reading about a 16 year old kid who thinks he knows anything about what chicks want... And maturity. Btw... If you have to have subs get a comp. jl or fosgate 10 and a good amp it'll hit harder and have more punch, especially compared to that flea market set up. and for cryin out loud make sure you get the proper gauge wires.
What would you do if I didnt have that under my username?

And these powerbass subs are all I can afford right now. Ill upgrade later on though...hopefully. :D

I had a "bass" music phase when i got my first car, but in the Jeep i have now, i just have a nice Kenwood head unit with the factory speakers, which sound pretty decent for what it is. Hydro tank, it your car and you can do as you wish, but if you were to get a one high quality 10" and amp your ears, police, neighbors, and possible future relationships will thank you

Less boom, more clarity. When I was in high school I had 3 15s and 3600 Watts going to them, now I have a single 10. Sound quality is WAY better with the single 10 and still plenty loud. My right ear rings constantly now and has been for about 6 months at the age of 29. First sign of hearing loss...thanks to knowing it all at 16 and playing it loud.

I remember when I was young. Looking back if I would have saved the money I spent on goofy crap like rims, stereos, exhaust, blah blah blah. I would have been able to drive a new car. Hope the sound is worth it, no matter how much I invested in a car stereo it never sounded as nice as it should have for how much work I invested into it.

I can't tell you the last time I heard a car rattling apart from the stereo as it drove down the road. I though that stuff got uncool and kids moved on to watching anime, cutting themselves, and crying in groups.

Turns out those other speakers where crap. Good thing I told him to let me listen to them.

So I found another deal and went and listend to them, they sounded awesome! So I got them.......

Im going to need alot of Dynamat! :lmao:

Some guys dont like it but the roofing material for sealing roof's works very well. Peel n Seel and bituthane is what I used on my last "real" setup and I had VERY VERY little rattle, little enough that I hit 144 db with a Term Lab meter.

Back in the day I used to professionally install systems like this. Big amps, bigger speakers, and neon all thoughout. I look back now and think WTF was I thinking as I see my Nissan Pathfinder filled to the roof with amps and speakers (it became a 2 seater). I used to actually enter stereo competitions. At any rate it was a great time at the time, now I look in my rear view and see a double stroller or a bunch or stuff from Home Depot. Enjoy the time now, it doesn't last long. Buy or build what you can and make it yours.

that setup looks pretty tough man. Should sound nice with some Dynomat in the truck. You can also use cotton stuffing from pillows or the sewing section of most stores and stuff in between the bracing on the trunk. Just dont cram it in to the point where you dent the outside panel. Fill/mat everything you can, you'll be glad you did. I've had a ton of systems in about eveything Ive ever driven. Everything from cheep Walmart junk, to high end Kicker/Boston/Karmon Hardin/Alpin/Polk/JL...you name it. It always comes down to sound deadening.

here's my audio system... it sounds b e a u t i f u l "thumbsup"

i spent waaay more time on my initial sound dampening and then eliminating those odd little resonating buzzes and rattles after the install than i did actually installing my components.

3 to 4 layers off matte overall, double that in the rear well. the blue stuff is liquid sound dampening, and if i could do it all over i would use herculiner.
