This is being started for all the Doubting Thomas' out there :flipoff:...

I am in the process of building up a 2.2 Scout Scaler of my old one, with some tweaks. As the Ambush is a 800B and not 800, I will use RC4WD Krawlers and not BFG MTs...

I had a '66 800 as some know, 44 f & r, 35s on champion beadlocks, 283 FI chevy, SOA with YJ rears, and a sweet tube bumper done by Phat Jeeps outta Boulder. I still need to scan in some of the other pics as all the ones I have on the comp are pre 35s.

So with that said...on to the mini Scout...

Dtrail 11 chaissis, with Daiz Plexi Leaf Springs
Pede Tranny
TLT axles
Either a Mag Mayhem or 35T Warrior motor
VXL Esc for now
Head light/tail lights
2.2 Rock Crushers when the come out

Big thanks to Stephan from ScaleOffroad for stepping up and make some sweet photoetched emblems...can not wait to see them! "thumbsup"

Big thanks to Unimogger for helping get the perfect scale beadlock! "thumbsup"

Here is the pic as it stands now...

This is gonna be sweet."thumbsup"
I didn't think this would ever happen. :flipoff:

 I'm sure this build is a big surprise to you Griz :flipoff:

Hey Busted, Glad to see your started "thumbsup" the emblems will be awesome as everything from Stephan is. Can't wait to get some myself. I've alway liked these little trucks. My build will start after the holidays. Norm

Thanks, I am sure Stephan's stuff is superb and will be the icing on the cake for me.

Busted...You are committed now.

Keeping track of this one... "thumbsup"

Yeah, Yeah... I know :flipoff:, gives me motivation to hurry up and get it going and done.

Looks familiar??? Love these Scout builds

 Yeah, I was watching yours...thought you stole my paintjob :flipoff:  Biggest difference is that I won't have a roof rack, and no black hood. I do like yours "thumbsup" and can't wait to run with you up at Freddies!

This one will be Pactra Racing Red and White again like the comp truck, unless I get a bug up my rear to really duplicate my old one. Wonder if Dodge will sell me a small spray can of Viper Red and Ford will do the same with their Performance White?

A Scout!? Who runs them anymore..... JK :flipoff:

Those Krawlers are gonna look huge!!! They're an 1.5" taller than the geos.

Sweet ! Another one underway!! Am I the only nut in the W.PA.C that is going 1.9???

Not the only one. My S10 Blazer is 1.9, and I'm building another 1.9. Plus Bird's rig is 1.9.

That is kind of the idea here  With 35s I only ran another 2" of lift over what you see in the picture, just hacked the fenders hard. Besides, if I can get it to sit the way mine was, the leaf packs should be almost flat at ride height with minimal up-travel and a ton of droop.

Mmmm sexy meats! Those are temp rims for mock up as I am waiting on the actual wheels to get here...

Need to drill out the leaves in the AM so that they can be mounted to the axles, then tighten down all the mounts.

A few mock ups just to see... Those Krawlers are HUGE  !!! Should look very sweet when I am done, kinda of like the mythical 42" BFG Krawler everyone wanted that BFG never made.

Nice and narrow....

looks awsome, hope you don't have the same problem i had with the 2.2 stompers, i had such a narrow offset on my rims, at full steer the tire almost tucked into the drive shaft. i had to use different rims.

I won't know the answer to that until the actual rims I am going to use show up. Those axials are just for mock up.

Is RC4wd selling pre-muddy tires now...Gives the real scale look... :flipoff:

Yeah I think they are :fliopoff: Or it could be that I ordered through Rckcrwlr's World of Hobbies and the owner of that fine establishment tried them out and pre-cut holes in the sidewall too
