Ok boys, here it is. My wife wants a pimp cane and I think that rocks!!

I know she is not going to compete, she just wants something she can play with when I go to the rock pit. She is a pretty good builder and has built her own heli already.

What is the easiest(cost effective) way to go about this? I was thinking to just buy a stock Clod kit and and then a 17.5" Pimp chassis. I am thinking she can just run the stock axles and motors till she starts breaking stuff of decides she wants more out of the truck. Anything else I should look for?

As far as electronics go, what ESC can she run that will support both motors running on a 3s TPX 2070? What will the life of the stock can motors be running on 11.1? What kind of run times will she see?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Lou

Thanks fella's for the kind words. She really is an amazingly hip chic and I am super lucky that she is mine. This is nothing really, my other hobby is R/C Heli's. I could buy 6 pimp canes with what I have in my comp Heli.

Anyway, I am building an Axial based DMG DVC Pro. Since that is 2.2 she want a 2.2 pimp cane so we can be in the same class. I think it should be a ton of fun so we will see how it works out. Any more advice that can be had would be great.

This is what we are looking to start with...

What else do I need to get her rolling and comp legal?

You are going to need clod axles, custom bead locks to make sure you are narrow enough to be comp legal, and all the electronics. Also, make sure you get the larger size TTR CVD's because the small ones break easily. Read up on some of the 2.2 pimp cane clod build threads. The more you know the better off you are.
