Nabil’s gspeed v2 comp truck

So there are a couple different comps coming up and everyone is telling me I’m going to need a winch. My goals in mounting it, were to keep it as low and forward as possible. I also have the added benefit of it being unsprung weight by mounting it to the axle. Also during its first shakedown run I had some driveshaft issues including snapping the u joint on both shafts. I decided to replace the sdi shafts with some incision shafts which should be plenty strong for the team brood power plant

I know this is not sorrca legal, but we run a more relaxed version of the rules so I should be ok locally and hopefully remain legal for the new wrcca performance scale class. I also still need to figure out winch line routing. If I go through the bumper I think I can get it to act as a suck down winch at the same time. If that doesn’t work out I will just build a fair lead that mounts to the front of the steering servo and call it a day

Couple more updates

Made a simple winch fairlead that bolts to the back of the servo posts. I decided to mount it here since it allows me to go through the front bumper or to go up to the shock crossmember and act as a suck down winch.

Speaking of bumper, I modified a cheap steel stinger bumper. I cut off the stinger and shackle mounts and re drilled it to relocate it as far back as possible

Also I cut out the stock grill and glued in a grill from the scx10-2 Cherokee.

Found this thread. Great build ! How does that gspeed chassis perform. Was thinking of picking one up?

Definitely pick one up if you get the chance. The truck has constantly surprised me. The chassis works great
