hey guys i was wonedering if proline made narrowed series 40 beadlock wheels....i was going thru ebay to buy some moab xl for my crawler and well i found a set but they said they fit the narrow beadlocks. i have the Weld Commando beadlocks with the silver rings...dont know if there is a difference with the beadlocks with the gold ring or the silver ring

Proline makes the 40 Series Cheyenne Narrow Bead-Loc Weld Wheel (which is narrowed), But you can use the rims you have any narrow them so you dont have to buy another set of wheels. The only difference between the silver and the gold rings is the color.

the ones with the silver ring are standard width for use with 40 series tires
the ones with the gold rings, are narrowed. specificly made for use with the Moab Xl tires (which are narrower that standard 40 series)

I think they mean to say "narrowed" They are still about 7/8" to wide, so you will probably end up narrow them anyway.

Close but not true.;-) 40 Series Commando Bead-Loc Weld Wheel and 40 Series Cheyenne Narrow Bead-Loc Weld Wheel. The Cheyenne's are narowed for the XL's but still not narrow enough. The Commando's can be purchased with either silver or gold rings, and need to be narrowed big time for the XL's. http://www.pro-lineracing.com/proline.html

damn so i think i bought the wrong tires...oh well...i kinda didnt wanna narrow them...but i guess i will....just kinda wanna get my project working already, getting kinda impatient lol

If you have the narrow ones I think 3/4" puts the rim at 2" outside-to-outside. Just make sure to get a good measurement and add the thickness of your cut too. Well I'm sure you know what your doing it realy isn't that hard.

well do u have to do the whole fiberglass and resin with hardner trick to bulletproof the rim? or could i just use strong CA or another type of glue to glue the rims together? i was also thinking about using like very thin pieces of plastic (u know the stuff that comes in like sheets?) i thought about doing that too. not sure though. and also how do i go about making the straightest cuts possible...i have a drill press...but i`m not sure if that will work.

Just make sure you cut all 4 then change the table heigth befor cutting the second time around.

thanx likes2crawl...thats the thread i was looking for. 8) i just got my moab XL`s in yesterday and u put them my rims and they dont seem...to bad with the rims actually beind a bit wider then the tire itself so i will narrow them later on down the road. but these tires are sick as hell..no wonder everyone loves them lol
