Here ya go Axial Racing fans, they have just dropped the 1/24th scaled SCX24 Deadbolt. The SCX24 is Axial Racing’s first foray into the 24th scaled market, have a look at big squid rc

My Cr-24 from Banggood JUST shipped. Aww well, I guess I'll have to get both. :)

I like the new Deadbolt, but I'm a bit worried about those tiny plastic balls. The coilovers look great. The body is sweet as well. It has nice wheels and tires, and I'm quite interested in that Dynamite 88T motor for my ECX Barrage (unless that's what it already has).

It has a 2-in-1 ESC and RX. I'm sure that's the first to go, but everything else looks fantastic!

The upcoming HobbyPlus electronics upgrade kit will also have an 88t 030 motor, I wonder if it's the same motor

The sales release info says it’s a 180 motor.

I saw that and that's what I initially said, however that information isn't repeated and the picture shows what looks like a typical 030

I preordered one. I'll post when it gets here.

I've been wanting to see Axial get into 1/24s for a long time.

I have a ProLine Ambush and its cool but discontinued and no aftermarket. I am hoping that with Axial getting into this market maybe this size will get more popular and some decent aftermarket will pop up.

Hopefully it's a 180. If not we'll slap a 050 in it. :lmao:

Here is a close up of the motor. I thought it lookeds like a mini z motor at first look. But now that Ive googled both the FF-030 and the mini Z motor. I think your right. It looks like a typical FF-030 now.

The notches in the back of the can give it away. = (

Here is what the manual says is the replacement motor. Which now that Ive taken a closer look at. Looks exactly like a FF-030 can too.

https://youtu.be/H_DbIfV-QTg?t=473 7:54 in the Harley Designs PLBTF video has some SCX24 crawling action. Looks nice and controllable. Is that slowed down at all or real time?

It didnt look THAT slow to me. But anything with worm gears typically is much easier to control throttle wise. Im sure it drives slower than most the others just because of the worm gears.

Cant go wrong with the WORM. :lmao:

You can usually tell the 030 from the 130 or 180 by the shape of the can even if you can't determine the size.
It looks like a crawls as good as any other worm gear crawler like the Losi or ambush, however this will have a longer wheelbase than either with bigger tires.

Found this in the manual...

"SCX24 030-Motor with Pinion (DYNS1217)"

I am curious to know if this 88T 030 is stronger than all the other 030 motors typically found in micros.

If not, I will slap a 050 motor in mine like I did the RC4WD mini. "thumbsup"

Well we know it's 88t so assuming the same style armature the magnet strength is something to consider, I know the RC4WD motor 030 has more turns, however it doesn't have work gears so the 88t may be a decent match. Swapping to a 050 could be better if it had more magnets or the right wind, you can get away with a few less turns on longer can motors
