New Dodge Demon

I came home from the hospital in a '71 Demon. My dad still has it, about 90% of the way through a no detail overlooked, no expense spared restoration. The only deviations from original are the OEM 6 pack setup off of a '70 T/A Challenger, engine internals, and the TTI exhaust. I promise you, he will throw up in his mouth when he sees this!

I'm not a fan of modern day Mopar using old A, B, and E body names all on the same basic platform. Talk about confused... the "Dart" is just a Neon these days, and the "Demon" (which was essentially just a fastback Dart in '71-'72, later to be called Dart Sport) is the modern Challenger with Duster tail lights!

I couldn't agree with your dad more... im a ford man at heart.. but seeing a 4dr charger, I could never buy a new mopar..

i get the nostalgia aspect and absolutely consider the old musclecars waaaay better looking, and yeah its lame to put the old badges on new cars that dont share the same amount of doors... but that 4dr 'charger' goes 200mph on pumpgas for less than 70g. fun damn cars.

New engine technology is pretty great considering. 700+ reliably from the factory for cheap.

Not set to launch for 64 more days according to the dodge website.
I'll check back in around then

you can build a car that goes that fast for cheaper though...

But you have the convenience of not having to piece together and build the car yourself. That doesn't even mention the warranty which you will need with a Mopar!

I love the new Challengers and Chargers. They're some of the best looking cars on the road. But with all of the problems my friends have had with theirs (and other Chrysler products) I just couldn't ever pull the trigger on one.

Agree with both parts, I like the current styles but anything after 1980 to me just isnt worth the repair bill.

I would definitely give a leg or arm for a '70 Cuda though, my only favorite Mopar.

im in the process of making my alfa into a gasser that will make a 9 sec pass for under 15g's.. but it is ugly haha.

if I could id go find myself a Plymouth scamp and swap the new awd challenger drivetrain under it. id find a wrecked one or two. mash em up.

I myself, have a thing against warrenties..

The Demon is bad ass I might have to pull the trigger on a black one. I was very close to buying a hellcat but decided not to and use the money to build a pole barn for my other Mopars. They are also coming out with a 500hp Durango srt in 2018 that's is bad ass also.
