Situation: I could use some more money for some new rc stuff (don't we all) but the catch, I'm only 15. I can't get a job yet. I have good wood working skills so I could sell stuff but I've tried birdhouses and cornhole (bags) sets but I can never make a profit. I end up with like $3 an hr. profit. I can work around the neighbor hood tho. Besides lawn mowing (seems the best route), what else could i do to get some extra cash? Open to any ideas (except prostitution) Thanks "thumbsup"

lawn mowing seems to work for me. im making around 50 bucks a week from only 2 lawns. ask if people need any other stuff done like trimming hedges and stuff like that

Painting and other chores or odd ball things are also something people would pay for , if you notice any broken wooden fences you could fix those?

When I was in high school I worked at a local metal shop. I went over and asked if they needed someone to clean up and push a broom, etc. during the summer. I made minimum wage and basically got paid to be a shop helper and clean up while the guys were working. Most of the guys were cool and would let me cut steel on the chop saw or run the 4 foot shear to cut sheet steel or aluminum. Was the experience of a lifetime and I wouldn't change it for the world.

I haven't had to mow my yard since June 1st. Drought and crazy heat... kind of a win/lose situation!

The time will be coming soon for gutter cleaning though. If you want to make way faster money then mowing, go ask around if people need their gutters cleaned out. This is something people usually put off doing themselves (or doing at all). You can make way more money in way less time. You just have to pick houses that you can access the roof easily and isn't too steep. That's the nice thing about it though, you can really pick and choose houses easier then mowing yards because people don't usually have someone lined up to do it.

I was doing this when I was 14-15 and then just did some of those same peoples stuff in later years when they would call me back. I could make $200 for half a days work and I lived in a SMALL town (and that was 15 years ago, that makes me sad to say).

Wow what a refreshing thread, keep it up throughout life kid "thumbsup"

Another idea is pushing a broom at your lhs if you have one. I too did yardwork at that age. And as an errand boy on a couple small ranches.

Tile and grout cleaning. Indoors, cool, you set your price ahead of time. Do your house and figure about how long in takes for something like a small hallway bath (your mom will love you for it). Clean kitchen floor by hand, scrubbing evey nook and cranny really good.
Have all your cleaning stuff together and go talk to women in the neighborhood. They love this kinda of stuff. You'd make a killing.

Go for it son. "thumbsup"

Ask people if they need help cleaning out the basement, garage, attic, etc.
Say you'll carry stuff out to the curb or pickup truck, just show you what needs to go. $10/hr.
Most of the time the old man is to lazy to do it himself.
Heck, come to my house, I could use ya!
Hit up old folks. They could always use a young whipper/snapper to do stuff.

I cleaned windows when I was your age, it pays alright. Good job kid"thumbsup"

if you go talk to people and let them know you're just trying to earn some extra cash and ask what if anything they have to do around their place Im sure you'll get some work. I know Id pay to have my gutters cleaned out, car washed, grout/floors cleaned. Heck, there's alot to do. You just have to present yourself in a proper manner and be polite when you speak to people. I got my first job at 8 drawing patterns for a lamp shade company. I made .85 a pattern and it took me around 15 minutes to do one. Made for good money at 8 yrs old. Then I saved that money and bought a lawn mower to start mowing yards. By the time I was 12 I owned 2 trucks (76 and 79 Chevy)and a 77 Camaro. I shined those up and sold them for a profit. Its all about presenting yourself and your product/work with enthusiasm. Props for wanting to earn money instead of asking for a freeby!

Hay halling, A little late in the season but that And feeding livestock.
I always made good money doing that.

That brings back bad memories....

Stacking hay on a truck then into the loft of a barn for less than $5 an hour...that will put hair on your chest.

So when the leaves start falling, ill go around the neighborhood and ask if they want me too rake their leaves, and then a couple weeks later i'll go around and ask if they want their gutters cleaned! thanks for the help guys! "thumbsup"
