New line from Horizon Hobby - Vaterra

Re: New line from Horizon Hobby

The whole Vaterra lineup looks interesting. If I didn't know any better, I could have sworn that was a DX3e being used to run that rock racer. Hopefully that one will be making a comeback, that was a pretty good budget radio, I still use mine!

Go back to post #34, the Dx3e is included.

Per the manual, it is the Spektrum™ DX3E 2.4GHz DSM® Radio System.

Re: New line from Horizon Hobby

I'm already trying to figure out a way to move the spare tire forward and down. Hope they bring a BND or kit out.

Re: NEW Vaterra Twin Hammers Discussion

It comes with a Spektrum Dx3e tx/rx, which I think is about the nicest RTR radio gear you could ask for. I really like the overall styling. It's nice to see something unique. Please let it be built really well. Esp the IFS setup and the drivetrain. If they got that part right, it should be quite popular, I'd imagine.

Re: NEW Vaterra Twin Hammers Discussion

I like that there are already some upgrade parts for strength in the front, seems like a very cool rig that should be loads of fun if it stays together.

I smell a new terraX class.......

Re: NEW Vaterra Twin Hammers Discussion

Wow

Out of fawkin left field.

No more kit bashing needed for us lazy folks if this thing is beef. Or can be beefed up later.

Re: New line from Horizon Hobby

Looks amazingly well done. My only issues are simple:

Its another Horizon off brand. How well is it going to hold up? Their other cheapo lines haven't.

Rear Axle looks like a LCC, very small diff - can't be worm drive though.

Re: New line from Horizon Hobby

I wonder what made them go 1.9 with it.

I do like this though! (From the manual)

2-Speed Transmission
Your Twin Hammers trail racer features a 2-speed
transmission, giving you the option for fast driving or rock
crawling all in one vehicle. To change between speeds:
1. Press the top of the Channel 3 switch for low speed driving.
2. Press the bottom of the Channel 3 switch for high
speed driving.
IMPORTANT : If you decide to use a transmitter other
than the one included with the vehicle, limit the Channel
3 travel end points and gradually increase the travel until
the vehicle shifts. Failure to limit the travel endpoints will
damage the transmission servo.
