Hey everyone, I am new to RC and I want to build a Land Rover D110. I know most of the car will have to be custom but I would like to get everyones input on this future build. A bit of information about myself, I am deployed in Kuwait for the next 9 months and I want to build this while I am here or at least get everything I need so I can build it once I am home. I have no idea where to start, for example:

What chassis should I get?
What do you recommend for:

motor, transmission, transmitter, wheels, tires, suspension, I want it to have a working winch, lights front/rear and explorer lights. I want it to be as true to scale as possible. As I am only able to use very limited internet because of the location I am, I apologize for the questions.

I also been thinking to make my Defender a bit more unique to make it and Iceland version instead of a standard D110. What you guys think?

Any other input will be very much appreciated.
Thanks Again everyone.

Yup, rc4wd has a cool kit to get you started, if that's the kit you end up with, make sure you use locktite on all screw to metal connections, or they will fall out eventually.. I have the trail finder 2 and love it... Rc4wd makes some great stuff...

Another question what type of Radio transmitter do you guys suggest. I don't like the pistol grip so I would go with the two stick system. Any suggestions on that as well. Very much appreciated for your time on the info.

RC Model EX also makes it's own Defender 90 and 110 chassis kits: Scale Truck kit | RCmodelex - specialized for RC rock crawling, trial and expeditions

They're on the pricey side but it's another option since RC4WD hasn't had their 110 stuff available for a while. You could always start with just the chassis and body and add your own parts.

I thought about doing an Icelandic D90 but stuck with the stock look. That model you found is called the Defender BigFoot. As soon as RC4WD released the Gladiator tires I thought they were a perfect match for the BigFoot:
