Currently I'm thinking of the following

Holmes Hobbies TorqueMaster BR-XL WaterProof ESC with either a TorqueMaster Pro 540 27T or 35T

will this be a good combo?

very good combo, I run 2 HH motors, a 30T TM Pro and a 27T TM Sport
both are well worth it! I havent got the BR-XL yet, and am running on the factory axial ESC's at the moment with CC BEC on each for 3S

are Venom Li Po batteries any good?

Most members run Turnigy lipos on here. But most lipo batteries are built with the same construction, so you're basically paying for the name.

FYI, the 313mm link upgrade kit comes with a steering upgrade kit already in it, so you don't have to buy the AX30426.

When you're looking for a servo, the more oz. in. of torque, the merrier. Look for a servo with at least 200 oz. in. @ 6.0v. So, both of those Savox servos will work its just a matter of how much you want to pay for a servo.

Thoughts on these to batteries? both from Hobbyking.com
