i have 1 question tho. what are the main problems with them? what breaks easily? any thing i should switch out while building?

thanks! build pics soon!

The steering is the main weak link. I have an original release Wranger with a TON of miles on it. The steering gets sloppy pretty quick, so the sooner you switch to a GPM Aluminum steering kit the better (as you will not put wear on the chassis tub where the steering bellcrank goes through). The metal driveshaft seems to wear quickly (to me anyway... but I run my rig hard), the front "brick" hurts crawling ability but a dremel fixes that. Some people give up on them when the gears start to grind... as the screws that hold the top of the gearcase start to work loose the spur gear can hop and not contact the gear to the rear driveshaft and it makes a terrible grinding noise. You can shim the spur gear down from the top/rear to help with this and/or drill through the holes and put a long screw through them and a nut on the back.

I have 2 of em and love em... they are quirky but very scale and fun. Overall pretty reliable and decenly designed.

yep, steering and front brick are the two biggest changes. I also put a "O" ring inside the outer cups on the front dog bones...keeps them from popping out.

these are pretty capable rigs...your aftermarket choices are pretty good...search around and you will find some good stuff on the CC's

make sure you get a high turn motor or a GRU..Gear Reduction Unit. slows these down. I have a 60T in mine and its just right for my trail riding.

I have a 55T, a 2.5:1 GRU and some 4.07 inch tall tires

Its slow that way... but has gobs of torque. I find it too fast with no GRU and just a 55T (well for crawling anyway... good for trail running)

now im just waiting on tires, also, what would look better? black or chrome rims? i cant decide!

I think it looks good with black wheels. I think black or white steel wheels would look sick!!!!

still waiting on my tires! its been 2 weeks and rc4wd still hasnt sent them out yet... :x

has anyone had a problem with them?
