Is this just the slow season over there or are they doing a cleaning

their biggest client cut budgets hardcore, and they started cutting people & peoples wages instead of the hourly rates & fees they charge the client.

(by 'they' i mean the french agency who bought the business a few years back)

so then we started doing more work on our own because it was so expensive to use the production studio, and now you have the effects of that...

I'm sure the Indians can do it much cheaper! ;) Although I did just have a stupid **** call me up trying to drum up business for his offshore firm; in very un-polite terms I told him to go **** himself. I love doing that.

just sucks because good people get viewed of as a number on a damn chart and decisions are based from that.

i say it quite a bit, but if i ever change careers i will pick one where compassion is valued, 'cause in the world of advertising its a fault.

I think the 2.2s are a little much on this

So is the blood bath over, Johnny? I assume you survived the day.

nope.
I got laid off... but they can't let me go because I have to much work to do! :lmao:
My name was on the list that was handed down but the local powers that be are defying the order and have asked me to stay on for the time being.

It's nice to be needed

Like Hoopty said, decisions are made across the sea based on numbers. Basically, department salary vs department billing... they don't actually know how the work gets done.

It's sort of a relief.
This shit has been going on for the past 4 years... it sucks, just waiting for the ax to fall, round after round of layoffs for years! I feel like I can get on with things now...
