Yeah, it is mad skill work for sure! Just tighten those shocks down so they don't slip!!

aww gee... thanks guys. "thumbsup"
i'm really liking it.

i wanted really versatile shock mounts since i want to have a bunch of options for tires and suspension setups. once those shock mounts are tightened they dont slip, although i might do stud mounts just to be sure.

i also plan on having 2 different battery mounting options, one will be smaller mah pack(s) mounted unded the floor (lower cg for comps) and the other will use all the big 5000mah packs i already have mounted behind the seats to look like a fuel cell or a toolbox. with the big pack behind the seats a stock wraith interior drops right in, for the smaller packs under the floor i'll just use velcro to mount the seats on top of the packs.

i got all next week off from work. going to finish up the tubework and hopefully be ready to give it a good shakedown on the 27th.

How many guys will have class 1 rig's ready for the 27th

Also if the leaves are burned should be just hit Roselle woods?

I like BUsse but no where near as fun as the woods

I hear ya... mine hasn't gotten that many comments; granted its more 'assembly' than build from scratch, but still I think its more than just slapping a bunch of parts onto a vehicle.

But this is looking great!! Really need to spend some time learning to braze as I love seeing your work, and have the need to try and do some of my own!

Just a teaser from my thread..

ita a nice accent to the glow in the dark paint in there:lmao:

i could throw some 4.18's on my f350, but for the 27th i wont have the class1 zuki bits done.

Buxom Melons is out for the 27th. My foff rig needs her parts back for my Florida vacation... I might still come out if I get my rock rider together.

I finally got my MRC running
I finally got the Dinky on the rocks. It did ok... I really need to get some shocks. It was kinda floppy and couldn't sidehill very well. I'm thinking of shorting the wb a little but I think I might buy some 1.9 Pit Bulls first. The cheap Flat Irons didn't hook up very well. It was cold though, about 40 on the lakefront.

Here's some pics and a really short video. I had a lot of fun on the breaker wall today. The rocks are pretty big for a mini. I was climbing up this tree to get up there.

livid.

i took my time over three days to solder-up my replacement rspro/pro4 after frying the first one on the first plug in. i took my time and made sure i wasnt sloppy AT ALL.

the first time i plugged the deans in the esc turned on and armed. i pulled the deans to look at the manual on how to program it and now the fawking thing wont come back on. no magic smoke, no smell, no crackle, just silent.

bec works, receiver works. servos work.

i dont do hack. i use a weller wes51, with harris stay-brite solder and flux.
i take my time and i do everything right. i soldered everything uber low pro to fit under my seats. and i did it clean.

it took hours both times...

heres my first wiring/solder job. when i first turned it on it resulted in more flashes on the esc than intended and that horrible magic smoke... sent it back to tekin.

here is my second wiring/solder job to the replaced one. tekin did not warranty, said there was solder on the circuit board.

i've been soldering stuff for quite awhile now and im sure as hell over praying the first time i put power to one of these little demon boxes that it will work. maybe i got a cold + or - joint on one of the battery posts. gonna check that before i throw in the tekin towel.

i fried my first fxr too... same way as these 2 rs-pros.

Damn man, That sucks. We've all seen some of the work you do and it definatley isnt anything hack. But, what are the chances this is happening back to back? That is strange. Its probably something stupid that went over looked. I got nothin.

that blows man. electronics are definitely the least enjoyable aspect of this hobby.
On the plus side, that's a tidy little combo you got going on there.

its not my first rodeo.

first one might been my fault due to sloppy flux dripping down the posts and onto the board. but even that time my soldering was pretty damn good and i know i didnt get the posts hot enough... i figured maybe just the flux itself would have caused the problem.

this time i brushed the flux on and soldered to the posts while they were horizontal to avoid any potential. tinned both post and wire, then flashed the post and then the wire. its not hard. i honestly have no idea wtf i could have done wrong this second time...

ive de and re-soldered the wires and caps to the same novak escs many many times and those are right on the board. never had a problem...

i also got brushless setups in my race rigs and sandrail, no problems.

just peeved at the situation. now i'm going to have to work my vaca AND possibly not make it to the g6.

it was... going to have to figure something else out now that i wont be using the small tekin.

i just quickly wired up an old goat 2s to the pro4. it works... i have the 3s at work to send back to novak, but i think i'm gonna take it back home and see if it works, then shave down the heatsink a tad so i can fit it where i intended the rspro to fit and see what happens.

i got a brxl and handwound 25t coming from holmes, but i dunno if it will show up before the end of the week. im definitely going that route now for the final setup.
