i didnt mean to get everybody all rootin tootin fired up!

im not going to be a points/rules nazi for anybody elses rigs buy my own.

and maybe brians... ;)

Cool .:) I just hope the steering is fixed!!!

I got a full pack thru it in the woods by my house and another partial pack in the woods in Roselle without a hit of trouble. Just replaced the servo mounts with Team Associated Aluminum mounts. Rock solid. And of course I will be running those little training wheels tires so it reduces the strain on the steering by a bunch. May not be able to go over anything but by damn, i will be able to steer around all the obstacles.

Not a problem, we went through this same stuff last year. I did send an email to Pro-Line asking them to buy a new ****ing ruler. I think with 10 used and 2 new Flatirons and the basic ability to read an Engineer's Rule, I can pretty much guarantee that they don't know what the **** they are talking about.

But yes, I agree, stupid, but I will also follow them all but, I think now I am going to build a bone stock Dingo kit and run it the rest of the year, cheater rig be damned. I will keep my Taco for use up here in the frozen north.

I have them on my Hilux, they are good tires and they are the widest available now that I can't use Flatirons, but I lose a good bit of footprint. We will see how it goes Sunday..... If they fit the "under the fender rule". If not, then I will see you all when I build a new truck.

[FONT=&quot]the inside of the front tires cannot extend outside of the width of the cab at the doors.

dude! they never specified that the doors had to be closed! we could make tube doors for our trucks and then stick the tires out to the door when they are opened! Ill start making the 3.5" long wheel wideners right now!!

Haha:lmao:

JHTreyIII, don't get shut down by the bickering. Some of us put a lot of work in to building trucks, or trading for that perfect truck (in our opinion) and changes in rules or or specs or inconsistencies in vendors products negate that, we get a little pissed.

we have 10 or 12 people that are heavily involved in scaling and opinions are pretty strong between the hard ass "It 's a ****ing rule" group and the "it's our ****ing club and we can think for ourselves" group. Once in a great while a good truck has to go because of the rules and that is troubling but we live with it.

The end result is, we still run and we still have fun.

Jason, what CAC wheels do you have the the offsets are adjustable? My wheels are not going to allow my tires to fit under my front fenders either, though they will be inside the width of the cab. Not worth another freaking argument so I just need to buy new wheels.

How about gull wing doors? or really fat bumps in the doors? We could heat the lexan and press a tennis ball to them causing a 1 inch bump out on each side?

Maybe there is some wheel modding that could be done? Custom spacers? Add material? Remove material? Hell, I dont even know what your trying to do...

I think we need to close this thread and start a new one as this one is 72 pages long, a noob doesn't want to dig through that to see what we are about.

i have the cac 1.9 12holes
http://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/cre1912h.htm

neil the rule specifies the inside of the front tires cant extend past the doors, not the fenders.

mine as it sits right now by reversing the cac's offset is the insides of the tires are perfectly inline with the cab. if i get rid of my 8mm wide hexes my tires totally tuck inside, but with a cab width of 6" i feel my width is appropriate.

i'm still not at all a fan of this rule, so by no means am i trying to be a jerk bringing it up. more like pointing it out. i believe it should be a max track width for all rigs and not having it based on the body.

I don't see where in class two they have to fit under the fender? How I see the rule is front inside tire has to fit under the width of the door. I know on a hilux it does get wider in the center of the door.

I am not a fan ether.

Worst part is no one in our club or I think in IL has any say of these rules!!!
