Yo, DL...
Is it possible to swing the motor mount all the way to the left so that the motor/pinion are left of the spur in this pic?

Cool man! Class 1?

maybe. i'd love to use the speedpal zukie body but its a little too small for the yota bruiserruptor axles i have to be c1 legal. will have to wait and see what it all starts to shape up as once i get it.

might be better to use the axial trail ranger body and try to fab on a tintop rear end.

the fj chassis is remarkably similar to the samurai. all i'll have to do is cut a couple inches out of it. ;-)

What I want to do is:
Have the trans/mount exactly where they are but swing the motor to the outside, left of the trans. Then drill a larger hole where the front output shaft is so I can hook up a driveshaft to it.

Basically, I want to run my motor on the front and a dig on the rear.

It could probably be done if you get creative with it. It just seems like it would be a waste of that mount. It would be easier just to run a motor plate to accomplish what your trying to do and mount the trans with motor in the front.

Do you plan on using a transfercase? I'm not quite sure I understand what your trying to do.
You can mount that setup on either side of the transmission if you have a transmission that allows you to switch the top shaft to be reversed like a stock axial case or a vanquish case.

As far as swinging the motor plate around, it looks like it could work except you might have to move the motor plates location on the center block and hope the holes line up for the adjustment screw. Even if it does, it seems like the motor is going to be hanging off the side a bit much.

I plan to use a transfer case with mine... so how do I set it up on a SCX10 truggy?

Was going to use the Dink GRU, but I've not received it, its been too long and really unhappy about it so think I am going to ask for money back and if not, going to have to start proceedings with paypal.

It doesn't look like it will line up from the pic... can you check one when you get home?

No transfer case. I'd like to run the motor on the front half of the chassis but I can't because the dig has to stick out the rear.

I'll look at it tonight.. Might be able to turn the block around as well.

Chris, yours is easy. Just need to make a crossmember to mount the setup in either the front or rear then run a driveshaft from there to the transfercase.

Mms ok, will have to see what the clod is all about when I get it. Have a GCM 1:1 on the way.

Super easy...here's my axial tranny going to the GCM transfer case. You'll just need a plate to mount to across the frame rails.

I just got home from Hot Doug's. I had a Jalapeno & Cheddar sausage, Philly Cheese Steak sausage and an order of Cheese Fries! They had the Duck Fat fries today but I figured the cheese was more day off worthy "thumbsup"

For those of you that don't know, Hot Doug's is the best sausage shop in the Chicagoland area!
