Nissan Titan King Cab crawler

I wanted something a little bigger and got some Moabs. Left frt is stock. left rear is mounted stock on stock rim. Right rear is half foam stock rim. Right front is narrow rim half foam.

I get the moabs on for a test. I played with the foam for a change. No foam in the the Hardbody yet. I chopped the foam in half.

How narrow is that wheel. I'm starting (in my head) a scale build and am not sure if I want Geo's or Moab's. Are the tires narrowed as well (stupd ? probably), or just the wheel? How wide was the wheel to start with? Edit: 1.9" wide?

Only the rims are narrowed. All 8 right rims are the same. About 1" from outside edge to inside bead. I learned how here on the tech section.

One truck has geos, one has moabs, both have same rustler rims. Both tires half the foam. I cut it right down the middle. So one foam does two tires."thumbsup"

more pix of rim cutting here

I think the reason the taller one looks cleaner is because of the bends. If you bent the shorter one to contour to the axle more I think it would look better than the tall one.

are you stick welding these chassis?

No. I have a lincoln flux core wire feed. I normally only weld 1/8 to 1/4. So I have not converted to MIG yet. I need to. I hate all the splatter.

I agree with the tall looks good, but the snug would look best IF I could get the bends just right. Its hard to follow those wierd angles.

The tall one was the easiest to make.

o, you should try tig, it tkes practice, but they will look really good, and strong

Thanks. I would love a TIG. But I plan to convert mine to MIG when I get a ready welder for the 1:1. Right now I need 1/4 capacity for some stuff. Just made some tools today.;-)

I am still waiting for my hitec servos. Tower forgot to ship them in the first order.

I finished the driveshafts and links. Its a roller now.

Thanks, I just received the hitec servos I ordered 2 weeks ago. Tower lost the first order.

I also received the mtronik escs today also.

Ill post some more pix when I get the servo and body mounted."thumbsup"

I have not done much to it. Did finally get all the new bolts and escs.

I have been busy working on my 1:1 and a doing another SAS on a friends pathy.

did a cut and turn on the frt axle for more caster and reduce pinion angles.

Ill get back to the titan soon.

Well I thought I should finish this thread. I finally got the frame painted and gave it to my son for xmas. I ordered a sidewinder esc and brushless bm9. But the connectors were different sizes. one was 3.5mm and one was 4mm. So I installed my old motor and esc and a new body (painted green). Found some recaro seats on ebay. And a driver at walgreens.

I also picked up some more rims, tires, and shocks for the black titan.

I found some famous skater dude that fit good. My Son is 8, so...

Truck drives great. Only issue was the new radio I bought was too hard for my son to drive. So I gave him one of my old futaba stick radios (1983ish). Works great with the new rcv.

He rolled it numerous times and climbs real good. Just have an issue with the stealth not locking up enough.
