No Forward or Reverse, steering works fine.

Just thought I would ask the question and also bring up a way to help other with troubleshooting problems like this.

I was running my Bomber the other day and it just stopped going forward or reverse. No sound of breaking gears or anything like that. I figured I had just killed the stock motor. I installed a new Tekin 55T brushed motor and it still has no forward or reverse. The steering seems to work great though.

Any troubleshooting tips before I go and order a new ESC?

PLEASE KEEP THIS AS INFORMATIONAL AS POSSIBLE

Good question, I'm using Venom 5000mah 3s 35C Lipo's. I've checked the switch and it's set to Lipo. I've tried all 3 of my batteries after charging them as well. While driving it, it just quit. My charger is saying that all 3 batteries are good and the first one needed 2700mah when I charged it after the truck just stopped running. I've tried just running the motor by itself before reinstalling it and nothing happens no matter which battery is plugged in.

The question list could be a mile long to you to help diagnose your problem but here are a few.

When you plug in your battery does the ESC beep and does it have the LED's on?

Did you check the ESC connection at the receiver?

Every time I've had that problem it's ended up being because the Tx needs to be re calibrated...

Odd that it might happen in the middle of running but stranger things have happened...

sure it has nothing to do with the plug/wiring connections ?

possibly the motor/spring(s) are hung up ?
^ assuming it's a brushed motor

the fact that it quit for no apparent reason...
makes me think there's a connection issue.

Possibility it got too hot ?
and has a thermal shutdown or wiring short ?

cmbscx-10 offers some sound advice.
The ESC should attempt to arm if it is receiving power.
???

A voltmeter could help determine
if or where power failure/connection may be of fault.
inexpensive - every RC enthusiast should have one ;-)

It's possible the ESC just up and died...
But I'd suspect other things before making that assumption.

If it's not beeping at all when turning on its probably dead. 3s can kill the stock esc. Saw it on a video just the other night! Brand new Bomber and esc.

If it is beeping try taking it through calibration.

I'll take a look at it tonight. I didn't mess with it too much after it failed. I'm experienced with electronics and a multi-meter. I just thought I would throw this out there to see what all troubleshooting options are out there. I'll post up after I do some work on it tonight since they won't let me work on my RC's on my desk at work.

I'd defiantly try Downtown's suggestion "if you have lights you may off just lost your calibration".

Twice in the last few months I have seen my brother and a friend, both think their esc was toast. Each time it was the same thing; the leads off the motor where they soldered them on the tabs, were broken or almost broken off. Check that.

I just soldered the wires onto the new motor and I have 15 years experience with soldering. The wires are good, connections from the motor to the ESC are good. The ESC beeps quickly 3 times when I plug in the battery.

The motor isn't hung up because it does the same thing with both motors I have here. I thought it was just the motor that quit. I'm going to try re-calibrating it now.

And Calibrating the ESC worked. It's ALIVE!!!

Calibrating the ESC worked... very simple process. It must have just gotten warm and had a hiccup. I was running it for close to 2 hours straight. The new Tekin HD 35T motor is amazing compared to the stock one.
