Chico.........................Upper Bidwell or Hooker Oak park (scouting Friday)

As far as finding a good comp location we are looking for spots with plenty of parking, easy access, restrooms on-site if possible or at least within a 5 min drive worst case.....if it's in a state park or on private property we may need permission.
If any of you guys near the TBD location can scout em out I'd appreciate it. We'll need a map and some pics of these locations so we can get em in the lineup. I'll update soon.........:mrgreen:

I was able to get to Chico today and found a location in Upper Bidwell park that we can comp. It's near whats called Bear Hole and its right alongside Big Chico Creek. The spot I found is about an 8th of a mile from the parking area down a moderate trail.

I wish I could join you guys, but I'm down in the bay area.... however I was recently on hwy 36, on the way back from the Mt Lassen area and came across this place right off the hwy. That lava rock is pretty fun stuff to crawl on. Here's some pics, if it helps.
I envy you guys, you have a lot more options than we do in the north bay.

those pics that nib took are about 10 minutes from my house i have been looking at a couple areas there the only bad thing is no store or "inside plumbing" near by. would be about a 5-10 minute drive. if you guys are interested i can scout it out. let me know.. hes right the rocks up there are pretty fun.

Looks like we could hold a comp there without a problem.....5 min away for restrooms is fine. It doesn't look like a lot of shade so we may want to start really early or wait til later in the year for the weather to cool down.
Maybe one of the Nov or Oct comps.....

There are literaly hundreds of thses rock piles in Northern Trinity County. Byt the lake, camping, fishing, clean air,,,,
kinda far to go but what do ya think?
