Hi guys,regards from Italy.
I'm a huge fan of '80/'90 action movies and when I've seen the Nuziker body from Axial I understood it was perfect for a project inspired by Arnie's old movie "Commando".
The Nuziker is inspired by an old army jeep and maintain a military look so I started mumbling to make it more aggressive and mil-spec look.
The rig will race the SORRCA championship(in Italy of course...) this year in Class 2.
The rig is based on Axial SCX10 parts and upgrade parts from variuous manufacturers.
Holmes Hobbies 27T brushed motor and Castle Sidewinder 3 ESC powered by 2s Lipos are the current configuration for electronics.

So let's start....first the chassis and skid.
The chassis is an alluminium RC Light Model frame(RC Light is an italian manufacturer) paired with a modified Itegy skid.
The chassis was bend and trimmed to fit my particular needs and the skid was milled to lower the CG:

The final result

At this time link configuration and suspension setup is done, some minor adjustements will be done when the rig is fully equipped.

So...let's start with the body!!!
I don't like the stock Nuziker fenders, too rounded and too tight for 120mm tires I use in race(Pitbull or Proline TSL XL),so I removed them and bolt on Axial Dingo fenders, cutted and trimmed.
I don't like the closed cabin too...I want a roll cage and full view of the interiors and action figure(yes....I will use the official Commando action figure).
The cage is a trimmed, enlarged and modified G6 cage.

Now I will need interiors.....and I want them home made.
Is the first time I use the forexplastic and I had no problems.

For the body painting my choice was the tan/sand that is actually in use by US Army Humvees for the desert war in A'stan and Iraq(I'm a military reenactor too ;) )
At first time I was oriented for a woodland classic painting(like in the '80) but is very difficult to do on lexan bodies so I've painted with Tamiya dark yellow that is perfec.

I shortened the rear "drop bed",too long for racing use(bad exit angles..)

Now It's time to find a place for electronics and battery.
Again at work wth forex....

The bottom of the interiors seals the battery compartment perfecly and the ESC support is made by 2mm carbon fiber plate.

I've finally received the Pitbull Mad Beast tires and Gmade wheels, the wheels are painted the same of the body,weightened(80gr using wheel weights) and the tires received a stiffer foam.

Another thing I don't like of the Nuziker body is the ugly "drop bed",as I said I've shortened it but now I want a deeper place to put some scale accessories.
Again cutter,glue and forex....

Filled with scale accessories

Arnie is happy now!!! :)

Obiouvsly the work isn't 100% done.
I have to finish interiors, build the bumpers(alluminium, home made),sliders(home made) and lights(probably a light bar, front lights and tail lights) and mount the winch.
I will refresh this 3d every time I do more work :)
Bye

Still at work :)

Working on the front bumper, the two "U" frame extensions are made by an old CPU heatsink holder.

Winch fit perfectly

Front bumper made of square alluminium bar.

Done :)

Mounted the light bar..at this time I don't know if I like it...I will decide later.

I've done the rear bumper too

Same square bar of the front(but little wider) and 8mm round alluminium bar milled to fit on the chassis.
I've milled the D ring holder directly in the bars so in case of I have to tow anhoter rig the stress goes to the chassis and not on the bumper.

Sorry for the ugly black hole in the body...I've cut the body for another bumper.
I will close it...;)
The bumpers will be painted matt black with special paint to make it long lasting than spray can painting.

Almost done :)

First race of the year, and a very good fifth place!!!
The rig is still unfinished(lights and some accessories),but has very good performance, the result could be better but I made some mistakes(my fault...not the car..).
Some nice pics of the race:
