Is not a rim or center fire weapon. It is back powder. You can purchase black powder weapons online without a background check or any type of liscense. Seven states do have some minor regulations though.

Don't be mislead believing this thing can't kill you, or someone. It's not a bottle rocket. It's a gun. It will discharge a 50 grain projectile @ 800-1200 fps. Simular to a 38 cal. handgun. Not only is it capable of putting your eye out, it will take a good portion of your brains with it.
Shooting in your backyard or some where stupid, it would easily penetrate a wall, or possibly killing the neighbor's cat. :shock:
It would be a neat little scatter gun if loaded with small screws and and little pieces of chain link.
