Inspired by many on this forum who built a backyard crawler course, and the fact there's nowhere to crawl around here, I decided to try my hand at it. First, had to get approval from Da Boss (Wife):) Once she gave her blessing, there were several stipulations.....

No mudpits, cannot look like a messy rock quarry and it should have some type of shrubbery around it. Since that was not what I had in mind, I stood my ground and said "Yes Dear":lmao:

Anyway, here we go.....

Early stages, trying to figure out what works out the best with the materials on hand.

Added some red clay around the Rock face, now it's time to get really creative...

Made a cut in the clay mountain, made some retaining walls out of plywood and metal flooring transition strips.

Thanks! My wife asked me what we would do if we move. I told her I'm retiring at this house, they can bury me next to my Crawler Course!

Built another retaining wall to keep the clay from washing away, different type of wall this time.

Gotta keep my promise to the wife, so I added some greenery. Made some rock steps on the side of the mountain and polished up the other concrete pile. So far so good.

So this is it so far. I still want to add more rocks on the mountains, maybe make a bridge or a water feature. This project has been five weeks in the making. Any suggestions are welcome, this Rock Crawling addiction is real![emoji23]

I'd say, "Nice job"...but, it isn't. "Nice" is a 3-4 out of 10. That's at least a 9.

Thanks for the compliment, I really appreciate it!"thumbsup"
Wish I had a backyard, but love in a condo. I do have a front patio, be but it's barely 5'x12'. Of course, I'd need a really big yard, as I'd also want to build my own dirt off-road track.

Believe me, if I had my way, I would also build a short course oval for my Slashes. Also a mudpit....gotta have a mudpit.

No on-road track?
(I also have an XRAY T4)

My bad, almost forgot to look out for my on-road oldies! Been a while since I used them so it would be nice to have a paved track. How's this for an Old School lineup:

Losi Street Weapon, Nitro TC3, Yokomo MR4, HPI RS4 and Mini RS4.
