Hey all

After days of reading and seeing it for a good price, i bit the bullet and ordered the following:

MRC Pro Roller
Novak Mongoose Motor\ESC (18.5T)
Spektrum SR300
Hitec HS-5645MG

Pretty excited. Should make a good addition to the SCX10 i currently run.

Thanks for all the awesome builds and info you guys post

I'm also waiting for a similar package to arrive, same vehicle and same power system! It will be my first rock crawler. Im looking very much forward to it!

I have a HK15288A servo at home and I will try how it works on the MRC. It's a cheap but still very strong servo with metal gears.

Glad to hear it :)

One thing i forgot to mention, and can't find a clear answer to, is whether my maxamps 2250 2S LiPo will be okay with this setup. I imagine it's not going to fit on the axle, which is fine, i'll offset the engine with it, but i read a horror story somewhere about the quoted 100c rating and a small ESC?

I'm using a 2s LiPo 1250mAh battery in mine, it gives enough power and drivetime and it fits.
I have placed it on my back-axle for now.
I'm going to re-build my MRC with a R7R Mini Eclipse Chassis very soon

Glad to hear it :)

Yes, that is quite a large battery for a small tight chassis.

I'm using a 2S 800mah pack on the front upper links and get a lot of run time (est. about 20 minutes). I also have 3 of these since they are only $5 each.

I've got a couple i use with a different kit, so if they work that would be awesome. Otherwise i'll head down the the LHS and get some 1300s or something smaller and throw some Deans on them.

Glad to hear it :)

I think that story had to do with using a 3S 11.1V battery. Exceeded the voltage rating of the esc or something like that. Yours should be fine if you can live with the physical size. Ought to run forever. Maybe THAT could cause problems with heat build up and such.

Perhaps that was it, thanks for the clarification :)

Will have to wait and see i guess, many thanks for everyones input, pics when she arrives!

Well it's been a little while, i figured i should pop some pics up.

First is how it looked until this afternoon, pictured with my SCX10
Added Proline wheels and Chisel tyres, with MIP driveshafts since purchasing.

Second two are how it looks tonight, after adding on a Chaotic Crawlers bodiless chassis and Ti upper and lower links.

It's 10pm here now, so i only got a chance to make sure it drove straight, but tomorrow it's off to the rocks!

Perhaps a little. But the cross braces on the pro are aluminium, where the CC are Delrin. Not sure on the weight difference there. With no lexan body though i think the CC will work out lighter than the Pro.
