Outrunner kv questions monster truck

Dual motors mean 2-motors, 2-ESC's & $$$
Depending on the "can" size a larger single motor would be plenty.
Tekin's 4030 - 40mm x 69mm & 4038 - 40mm x 77mm (length oversized for sensors) are in-runners & will have more power than the average person will ever need.

Motor size will determine quantity needed, my 2830 sized out-runner motors do well in a crawler, but I would never put them in a race setup without extensive testing.
The 3656 in-runner has no issues with racing trucks up to 7 pounds at race speeds for 10min.
The "monster setup" you are going for won't likely be 10 min of continuous pounding so a slightly undersized motor may not get hot enough to fry.
I build around the concept of 100% duty cycle with a motor temp of 140f or less as a target.

There are a lot of "tricks" to tweak setup if you know what you are doing.
-motor timing (adds heat & RPM)
-ESC timing (adds heat & RPM)
-Lower Gearing (reduces heat to a point, also reduces speed, & amp draw, but can increase ESC's temps due to switching speed)
-Higher Gearing (more apparent punch, higher amp draw, can create heat if overloaded)

Multi-pole motors are more sensitive to ESC timing but can really pep up a flat feeling motor.

In an unknown chassis/setup start in the middle & adjust gearing/timing as needed.

I have a 4pole 3656 2350kv in-runner I really like.
The next motors I want to test are 6pole in-runners They look like 3650 sized?

I am still on the fence I can get 2 1450kv motors and the dual motor mount for around 60$ shipped and have 5mm shafts or the 1900kv motor alone for 40$ 5 mm shaft as well but slightly bigger diameter and can handle 4s.The 1450kv handles up to 48amps the 1900kv 60amps .

Motor size is what is important in this figure.
one big old motor will destroy things just as well as two little ones & 1/2 the chance of issues.

Yes that's true was just checking diameter the bigger one may not fit but the other will it's been on trucks all over YouTube with dual motors I should be able to gear them up more than a single motor less risk of lugging.

You have the expensive part out of the way, the ESC.
Pick a 35XX to 36XX sized motor & pick a KV based on how many cells the ESC can take & the RPM range you'd like.
Me personally:
3000kv 2s-3s
2000kv 3s-4s
1400kv 4s-5s
1100kv 5s-6s

4pole minimum for an in-runner
The more cells the less amperage to make power & the longer stuff tends to last.
Sensor setups will have great low end control, a sensor-less requires a little under-gearing to get nice creeping, & timing can get you speed for top end.

Battery choices can be as simple as a wattage calc.
(2s) 7.4v x 5000mah = 37watt hours
(3s) 11.1v x 3300mah = 37wh
(4s) 14.8v x 2500mah = 37wh
(5s) 18.5v x 2000mah = 37wh
(6s) 22.2v x 1700mah = 37wh

A 5s 3000mah to 4000mah will have more "power" than a 5000mah 2s, and less amp draw when done right.

I would do it. As long as it is a reasonably sized motor...
Timing & gearing can make almost any motor work, just have to have a good starting point.

I think it will be good I am going to play with the gearing first I've been doing this build on YouTube welder820 I've built RCs before .I have seen some speed out of these out runners I've been doing a lot of research.I really appreciate all the advice.I may pick your brain again for timing advice I'm going to have to go through the PDF for the esc and poke around online.

I've narrowed down my ESC choices to a few over the years.
Having the programming card or link cable & software can really open up the options for ESC programming.
Currently in my daily drivers I use Castle & HobbyWing.
Knowing the limits of your equipment & understanding all the options can really fine tune a ride.

We'll waiting on warranty from hk for the wobble in the 1450k motor machined wrong gonna go with the 1800kv typhoon motor Steve mentioned the other motor couldn't handle a 4s pack at 5200mah 35c the typhoon is able to handle from 3s to 6s the other got hot loaded or unloaded plus 4s was it's Max.

Warranty done new typhoon outrunner on the way did some digging online it's labeled an 1800kv but tested to be 1900kv or 1950kv slot of good forum reviews on it so excited can't wait.
