Does anybody know if there are overdrive or under drive gears available for the diff's on the Ascender ?

Thanks in advance

I don't think there is but what you could do is do the tranny mod to the front and use the rc4wd hammer t case out of a trail finder and use the tranny input as the front drive shafts output and that will give you an over/under drive .

Would be nice if they make heavy duty over or under axle gearset for Ascender, but I have not heard of one yet.

That'll work too, anybody done this here yet?

Hopefully Vaterra gets on the ball with aftermarket parts and upgrades or they fall behind real quick.

Really I just hope they're reasonably priced. As an example, their knuckle "weights" are cool looking and very scale, but I'm not paying $70+ to add a little over an oz per corner.

I know this has nothing to do with overdrive what-nots, but when I look at my ascenders transmission, I just wanna bolt a 550 to it....I think it could be done, maybe with supershafty motor plate spacers, and custom input shaft, its the same O.D as a B.P top shaft, just to cure my curiosity I tried to install a RRP 32p gen 3 to it.

Right now I'm in the process of installing my 540 out runner,

Your idea is interesting, but next time please start a new thread or add on the existing relevant thread. This keeps all relevant information in the proper easier to find thread. ;-)"thumbsup"

yes sir:oops:.....but, I don't know how to fix it yet.

No worries, you can click "Edit" on the post and add/delete whatever you want. "thumbsup"

For new thread, just click the "New Thread" at upper left corner in the Ascender section, hope answers your question.

Bumping again, in my mind this is a make it or break it option that has kept me from even starting down this path. This is one of the reasons I sold my TF2.

Horizon hobbys has some that you can order.the same happened to me.they take a while to come in but they do have them Im just about to fix mine

This is what you have to take apart to fix it

I broke my pinion drive gear about 2-3 weeks ago and just got the part now and just started to fix it.it was fast only about 10 mins or less to fix it and most was finding out how to take the axle apart

Trent1986 assuming you broke original non-HD pinion and ring gear set? OP is looking for overdrive or underdrive ring and pinion set.

IMO my Ascender crawls and steers very well without, but it would be nice to have UD gears for the rear as an option. :)
