Random question..
I balance charged a 3800 2s shorty at 3.8A (as listed on the case) and it charged to 8.2v and 4500mah?

is this a normal occurrence for a lipo to charge over its mah rating? or a Venom batteries (or any lipo) under rated.

I have charged this battery maybe 15 times but usually just on a normal charge (never fast charge) but I though it was time for a balance charge today.

I think the mah number chargers spit out is kinda a guess. I'm curious why the charger stopped at 8.2v instead of 8.4. What was the final charge per cell when it finished??

You should be balance charging every time you charge. Check individual cell voltage, one cell may be lower than the other and the charger may be having trouble getting it balanced. If the charger had to discharge one cell several times trying to get the other one up to 4.2v, it could account for the high mAh rate into the battery.
