OzThrasher's Yeti

Changed out the rear VP V1 axle for the newer VP V2 axle. Whilst I never fully blew out a rear pinion bearing, they certainly got a lot of movement in them plus the occasional lockout coming loose had me chasing something with more strength. The V2 axle seem to fit the bill in paper and after fitting it I positive I've made the right choice.

Out with the old in with the new, ready to swap over.

Inner bearing comparison.

Difference in the tube thickness. Lockouts fit real snug and a lot more thread for the lockout bolts to bite.

Bearing caps now completely surround the bearing and fit very snug into the housing. No more premature bearing failures.

Fitted up, cleaner lines and more scale look with the link mount bolts no longer going all the way through the housing.

Axle feels very solid and mesh is perfect. I did go with another brass shim on the outside of the pinion between the bearing and the MIP drive shaft again. This eliminates all movement with the pinion.

Great build! I have been looking for some answers, and hopefully one of you can help! I just installed the centered Currie axle on my yeti and as many of you know you have to switch the gears to the other side in both the rear and the front differentials. I did so and my motor was running backwards, so i fixed that on my remote, but my esc was still programmed with my reverse at 50%. Long story short I now cant run reverse at 50% and throttle at 100% ever since I installed the axle. not sure whats going on here. ps. i am running the Mamba Max Pro and Tekin PRO4HD 3000kv. any ideas?
