Yeah, it esploded.

Windows XP crashed hard, invalid system disk error. Loaded Win7. All that shit is working. Here's the question:

My iPod has 300 or so CD's on it. Those CD's were loaded onto the hard drive that puked, so they're gone. Or at least iTunes can't find them.

If I want to add a new CD to the iPod, it's going to sync with the empty hard drive, right? And erase everything on the iPod? Is there any way to load the songs from the iPod to the PC so I don't have to sit here all day loading those 300 CD's again? Or am I fawked?

Anyone who says "get a Mac" will be kicked in the dick. HELPFUL replies will be appreciated. For the record, I'm just computer-literate enough to be dangerous.

Sharepod can't find it. iPod shows up as a removable disk, but no music files are visible. I don't think they showed up in Windows before anyway. But the music is still in there.

Try syncing your iPod with another Apple device that you know has zero issues and then use that other device to attempt your music file recovery to your computer.

I have found that as a self-protection Apple will not sync up with a non-Apple device if it recognizes a serious malicious issue in the system. If the second device refuses to sync also I would tend to think whatever happened to the tower with the XP is a bit deeper then just reloading Windows of any version.
