haha yes I did name it Storm Trooper. name I used on pcpartspicker too.
downloading iracing car/updates now. soooo much work ahead. but im sure will be worth it.
thanks for the reminder Steve.
ill be curious to see if iracing lets me run 2 computers with iracing on it (to transfer settings, not both PC running at same time though) to match all my "custom controls/settings" for each car to the new version. ie ffb, wheel settings, and all the other settings i havent thought of yet etc.
Cool, I suppose, but there are already a ton of racing "games" for mobile devices. This would clearly not be on par with the PC based sim in terms of realism. Since the whole purpose to iRacing is to be a realistic racing simulator, I'm not really sure of the market for this.
Maybe there's a huge market for it (I've been wrong before!), but I would've preferred to see them do a bunch of much needed updates to the handling characteristics of a number of cars in the sim that desperately need it! It would've been a much better use of their resources, IMO.
gotcha. i think you forgot what day it was yesterday
on a side note, Monday i bought Spin Tires, and last night Steve picked it up too. we had our first Virtual Trail Ride #VTR.
3 hours of some epic wheeling. and we actually completed the objective! was pretty awesome, tough but awesome. i could have done that all night.
fyi all tracks and cars, and packs 50% off at RaceRoom this weekend.(same people that make our cockpits)
RR is a free to download and play sim. includes 2 tracks and 2 cars. you just buy cars and tracks. with the sale right now the cars are $1 to $1.60 but even at normal full price there way cheaper than iRacing.
i downloaded the demo on my old computer, but it couldnt keep up with the graphics. Frame rate was like 5-10 so testing it was impossible. i might give it another try with this sale.
the first rendering of the new one.
cool part is there will be several versions a Blancpain/GT3 version, and a GT1 version(shown) to join the corvette series!
no known eta
been playing with OBS capture software this week.
heres some test footage from daytona at night. it was so damn pretty.
im still not happy with capture quality yet. it doesnt look near as good as the iracing replay.
1080p
60fps (youtube max)
12000 mbps data
192 audio kbps
and everything generally maxed.
still getting some blockyness in the motion and some blur. gonna try some more tweaks.
anyway. i actually ended up getting the fastest lap of the session with no draft. there was only 5 guys in my session, but still a first for me. and i felt like there was some definate areas for improvement.
