Pinion Question

The set screw hole on one of my stock pinions is stripped so I need to replace it.

I am planning on picking up a Robinson Racing 14T, 48 pitch pinion. However, I wanted to check first and make sure there isn't something I'm overlooking. Will the RR pinion work with the stock XR10 gears? Any concerns about one wearing down the other?

Simple question but those are the type that tend to bite me. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Ethan, I have a Robinson 14t up front and a 13t in the back.

they work great!!

Yeah, I lent the motors that I had laying around. One had the stock Axial 14t pinion and in one run the pinion looked like it had been run on a sandpaper gear. Its not a pinion anymore. It a rounded piece of aluminum. The RR pinions are the best. My LHS has them for under 4bucks.

Cool, I'm glad to hear the RR pinions work well. I wasn't looking forward to putting another stock one in after seeing how easily it came apart.

Same here "thumbsup" 14/13 front/rear. They hold up much better than the included aluminum pinions

DT, dont you have dual esc's?? Whats the point of offset gearing still? I can see the advantage when using a single esc and a punk dig, so ya my question still stands.....

I do. I like how the rig performs at 100% and the extra torque at the rear wheels when set to 120.

I am also running my dual esc setup this way. 14f and 13 rear is perfect, even with propo. I ran it with the 14s all around and had the propo set to the front the whole time, so the 13 went back in the rear.
