Private Messages etiquette question?

Ok I did a search and didn't find anything.
Now this may be a dumb question, but I've noticed that when I receive or respond to PM's some people like to have the quote above and others below their reply. It can get confusing when trying to read or keep track of a message string.

My question, what should be the proper etiquette? Type your response below or above the quote?

Am I making sense LOL?

Rich

For PMs the quote below the reply. For in threads quote above the reply.

I prefer above. It would be nice if each response had a date. So you could tell old from new. Date inside the pm from each person.

As long as it's consistently done throughout the discussion, either way is good for me...
It could be argued both ways. If it's been a while, having the quote on top is a good reminder of the context of the conversation; but if the topic of conversation is fresh in my mind, getting the most recent info first is nice.

answer on top, first thing you read. always.

cursor before the quote, hit enter a few times, then put cursur back at the top and start typing.

Just open the message up, highlight it all and then press backspace. If the person forgets what they asked you they can look in their outbox, if they deleted their outbox they are just a dumbass!

I have wondered this many times myself if tradeing and makeingf deals I tend to muddle thru till we come to a descision/agreement then I will start a new pm with the important details and such and delete the rest once the new pm is started... That way there is one nice short pm to save.

As far as normal pm's I think I have been going to the bottom Tho going to the top seems to be the norm ill go that way!!! Sure hope this doesnt get quoted lmao~!!!

I HATE THE GUYS THAT ALWAYS ANSWER INSIDE THE QUOTE

Always answer above the quote. "thumbsup"

Kinda figured answering at the top, I think I've been doing that but I do recall sending out a few PM's and getting the response below LOL.
