I have an scx10 currently running RC4wd king shocks. Got a set of proline scaler shocks in trade....Anyone have any experience on which set of these would be better for general crawling and trail running? running a holmes hobbies 35t brushed motor and an ae5 esc. stock gearing and axles. Any input appreciated.

I can't say I have used either, but in general the kings tend to get mixed reviews, and the Prolines tend to get favorable reviews. This is just what I have noticed from trolling boards for the last couple of years.

If you have them in hand, give them a shot and let US know. "thumbsup"

Love my Prolines. Would't trade them for anything. In fact, I'll gladly trade you for the set you have if you don't want them. I need another set. I run them on everything and I'm working on a new rig.

There's no comparison between Proline shocks and RC4WD shocks. ProLine's are high quality, perform well, respond to tuning well and look awesome. RC4WD shocks are extremely leaky, don't perform at all, tuning is inconsistent at best, and their materials used are poor quality. They need a lot of work to still be inferior to ProLines or Traxxas big bores. If you want blingy, poor performing, leaky messes, RC4WD is your shock. Almost everything else is better because you'd have to try pretty hard to make a worse shock.

Thanks everyone, I will Switch over to the prolines. Always appreciate the input I get from this site

+1 for Traxxas shocks (although I know it's not one of your options). Also super affordable.

Pro Line shocks are the way to go! I own 4 sets of Pro Line shocks (2 sets of scaler shocks and 2 sets of Pro Spec shocks).
