Dude don't sell yourself short, that is on the cuttin edge. It looks to me like it will take a beating. The only thing that I see it need are tires, wheels, and rear steer to compete. I wouldn't pay any attention to people knocking your design, they're probably just jealous because they got no skill. I bet it would kick butt in a comp. Anyway, nice job.

thanks man! I will be running a hitec 5645 and 645. I hope some of the comps will allow me to change the wheelbase during my run but that would depend on the rules. I primarily built it because I wanted to bash on the rocks for fun, never really thought of it as a comp rig due to it being steel. I'll weight it when I'm done and see the damage.

thanks guys for all the replies and info.

I have always thought of that, but could never figure it out. Looks sweet. Can we get a Video of it working?

its a good idea id like to see how well it works and how much of a beating it will take id make a cover for that chain to keep it clean as you can

agreed, I will work on the cover after the holidays, I'm going out of town until Tuesday. Once I get the esc that I bought from a member here I will post vids of it, though I never posted a vid before so I might need some help when the time comes.

I just posted in the wanted section for parts on this truck so if you happen to have servo mounts from a TLT and a jeep body, let me know

thanks guys

cool design man.8)
is that a full extension drawer guide you have as the slider? i use those at work and it looks just like those.
i don't see why you wouldn't be able to run in the unlimited super crawler class. plus i never heard of a rule saying you can't change the wheel base:twisted: .
glad to see more people thinking outside the box. can't wait to see the video:)

That's just a drawer slide 18" I think(medium duty) that I bought at home depot. It had to be trimmed and both ends so I could get it down to a 12" wb. it's holds up pretty good, maybe I'll buy the heavy duty on my next shot at it.

Kudos on the adjustable wheelbase on the fly. This is a great idea!!! You know you can still get four wheel steer by using a y-harness but it will be full time with no crab crawl. Another thing I was thinking. If you ever want to market this (and it looks like a good enough idea to) them you need to figure a way to do it and distance yourself from Kevin's stick design. Just a few thoughts. Again, great work!

Unfortunately I won't be producing them, however I wouldn't be surprised to see this proto up for sale when I'm done, and then I'll move on to my finished crawler. I would be glad to help who is going to build one, they are alot of fun. for now I'll be using a Y harness and my tq3 for the steering until I get some things sold and buy a 4 channel.

thanks for all the input guys, still looking to improve it. :)

I know, just a matter of money right now. I really didn't think I could get this to work when I first started so I didn't make finacial room, then again, is there ever too much money.

I got the esc hooked up for the motor and it seems to be working fine. I'll get a vid as soon as I can.

thanks guys
