Project VW Vanagon Syncro-The epic... Now XL 1:8.5

Time to post some here too"thumbsup"

Today I played a little with my print machine and I made a 1:10 drawing of the Vanagon.
Here the ground clarance is about 55mm. The rearwheel have space but the fronts hit the lover corner of the wheelarch..

Another pic of groundclarance, now lifted 10mm to 65mm.
I think when it's done it will have aprox 60mm gc.
Most likely the front wheelarch still needs to be modified.
This is also done to the 1:1 Syncro with 16" wheels....

The tires on these pics are Tamiya TGX Rally with 80mm dia, too big realy.
I think i gonna use some Tamiya mini wheels, about 16" in real world.

If I can get some I want to use wheela from Tamiya Alfa Romeo Guilia, like these:

If dont, I can use my mini Minilite wheels that I have new in bags somewhere..
The tires will be redused Doc, that bring them down to 76mm, like the full scale version...

Here are a nice video i found last night

Next weekend is our Norcc comp, so I don't think I will be doing much on this project before that..

Stay tuned...

Thanx Pantablo"thumbsup"

I'm on my way out to a friend who is a sign maker, he can prob make me a nce print for me to work on.

I'm also plan to use Recaro cell phone holders as seat, two in front and maybe 2 in the back.
And there will be a working steering wheel as well..

After I had visiting my buddy, I had drawings in both 1:10 and 1:8.5;-)

The drawings has front, back, the top, and sides in both directions..

It was printed on brown paper with green ink, so it was kinda hard to see and my camra would't take pictures of the lines at all..

But the printings was spot on"thumbsup"

The reson that I've also have 1:8.5 drawings is that it will be a lot easyer to use normal wheels and tires..
The wanagon came with 16" wheels on some models, and that is the model I'm going for.
So a 1.9 wheel in 1:8.5 work out to be 16" in real life.
Tires will be Trail docs on some 1.9 wheels, have not decided what model yet..

So from now on, this build is 1:8.5"thumbsup"

Some pics after I had marked the drawings with a pen

Nice choice for a build. I love Syncros, i just dont have the styrene skills to make a body from scratch.
