proline's new crawler body

It seems a little small. Looks like it belongs on a stock TLT. Looks pretty functional though. I still have to paint up my Grappler, but I like the fact that it looks more scale than this one. I also run a Jato and it works well for clearance and width on my rig with less flex, but it's a little flat for rollovers. Tends to stay on it's lid....:-(

By "meeting minimum dimensions set forth by USRCCA rules for the 2.2” Crawler class," and by the pics of it, it looks to have a total length of just about 12.5".

A stock Sami (shortest popular offroader I can think of right now) is 135", or 13.5" long at 1:10 scale.............i.e., in scale, this body is shorter than a Sami.

Would this body meet the '07 requirement of "Vehicle must run a body that is 1/10th scale or larger?"

Since it's not based on a real truck, they could call it a 1:4 body if they wanted to. "thumbsup"

At least the grappler is slightly more scale... i love rock crawling because of the scale factor even for full performance rigs--- this is just ridiculously small..

To me this seems like bending the rules. Why not just make a 1/10th scaled CJ-5 or Older Jeep. That would be just about perfect and a huge Seller. At least the Losi looks like a S-10 or something Close to it. Just b/c some major Company makes a body and slaps a 1/10th scale label really doesn't make it 1/10th. ( just my thoughts) but then again it doesn't look like anything 1:1. So how could you really tell if it's 1/10th or not... You Can't. You just make it up. Don't get me wrong I like Pro-Line's products and the fact that they listen. If they can't make a Jeep b/c of Copyrights. Just change the name and don't put Jeep Decals on it. Just like what they did with the FJ-40. I remember I got bashed a little for narrowing a HPI Jeep body. B/c it broke the rules. Must keep the factory Cab width... but everyone knows that the HPI Jeep Ruby really is closer to 1/8th scale not 1/10th... After I narrowed it. It was still 15in Long and over 5in at the Cab....But it was illegal... I'd like to see the new rules for 2.2 Bodies for 2008... Did they change from last year?

I agree fully, I think the new rockstar body looks like ass and thats supprising coming from proline

these body look fauken cool. Where can i get one. Proline your on top of your game with these body.

I thought the Losi Grappler was pushing the whole 1/10 scale body rule. This body looks more like a 1/18 scale body. Doesn't fit into the rule if you ask me. But it was only a matter of time before one of the makers did it. Like someone said they can make it the minimum dimension and call it 1/10 scale. Guess Proline is working in the grey area of the rules. Guess there is nothing wrong with that. Unless the USRCCA decides to rewrite the rules it will be a clear advantage.

I'm very indecisive about the new body. I like the shape and design of it, but I'm not so sure on the size of it in relation to a 2.2 vehicle. Takes the scale appearance out of it.
To me, it looks a little like the Supers do with a full 1/10 or 1/8 scale body, disproportionate. It looks like a Miniature-Super. <new class? LOL ;-)
Although, I'll probably get one eventually.

The "Vehicle must run a body that is 1/10th scale or larger?" portion of the vehicle is gone from the '08 USRCCA rules. It was voted out as being irrelevant since there is a minimum size requirement (3"min height X 5" min width at the center X 12.5" min length). The majority felt that the 1/10th rule was unnecessary with the minimum dimensions set.

BTW I dig the new body... more choices for all. And better yet, major manufactures are getting behind our beloved RC rock crawling.
