Hi guys,
I just purchased my second truck. I decided to go with the TRX-4 Sport. It's my first TRaxxas"thumbsup"

I know this truck is tough but what would you suggest as a few spare parts. I live far from any Hobby Shop so a break will take me out for about 1 month by the time the delivery comes.

Has anyone broken anything yet?

thanks

I would say it’s pretty hard to break stuff, unlike a higher speed vehicle like my stampede once in a while I’ll break something. The TRX four is built, well it’s over built. I’d recommend get the strongest servo you can get versus having any spare parts.
It also comes with a metal servo horn so that would be the weakness on the ready to runs. I would say one of the best things to get right away are bumpers, because the stock ones seriously hinder the approach angles. Or mod the stock ones. Also there’s a mod to raid the sliders for more clearance. I did this and it’s a lot harder to Hi Center. I ended up going with the vanquish stock bumpers versus metal, and that saved me a lot of weight.

The TRX 4 is a tough beast but the steering servo is weak, some people have them break very quickly. Get a good, high torque servo and metal servo horn. I have been running my Sport for 4 months and, touch wood, no breaks but I did put a 30kg/cm servo in it (bit of overkill I know)

Great to know. I have a bunch of 30kg servos around the house ( RC Paragliders need super high torque).

I guess I'll hold off and just wait.

Those bumpers are nice.8)

A powerful servo is a very valuable asset when crawling. I’m running a Savox 1210sg 444oz at 7.4V.

RC paragliders sound cool! I hope you create another thread in the Non-Crawler section to show those off.

The TRX-4 needs nothing right away and it's an excellent choice!

You obviously will find things you want to upgrade, but it doesn't have to be right away.

You can do simple and free mods right away like removing all of the scale accessories that are heavy and high up.

Today right after purchasing my Trx-4 sport rtr I see an add on Facebook. A guy selling a Trx-4 sport kit that he built, rolled a few times, added hop-ups and a new body. 2 sets of tires and some other assorted stuff. (all for a fair price).

Well..... you can guess what happened next.

I now have 2 TRX-4's !!

I now have to get another radio and ESC but it's the perfect chance to get my Wife to crawl with me.

The first part I broke was the panhard mount. I gather from my research there have been several others who have also.

This was next on the list for replacement, along with the other mount points for the diff. Guess I’ll order sooner than later
