An old friend Andrew Caddell from highschool has become what many would consider a true racing legend. He's gone from winning the Mazda MX5 Cup to winning the Ford Mustang Challenge and now is in the points lead in the Pro Light class of the Traxxas Torcs Series all at the age of 23.

I first met him in Landscaping class when I overheard him talking about how he raced Mazda Miatas and gokarts, at the time I never had thought he would become a professional driver, guess I shouldnt have doubted him:shock:

We also went to his house several times for lunch & on the way we would rally his Honda Civic HB on the backroads of Graham, WA...but that all ended once his Honda got stolen:lmao:

Andrew got to be a part of the unveiling of the 2010 Ford Mustang

Would you consider him a racing legend??

A legend? I would say no. That is a huge title that takes a lifetime for most to get. Tanner F. would be a legend in what he does. John Force is a legend and icon to drag racing. M. Jordan is a legend to basketball. See what I mean?

I agree, well maybe not about Tanner just yet. It takes a long time and almost complete domination of a sport to be considered a legend. There are thousands of people in each respective sport, only the ones that rise above everyone else can be considered a legend.

Fangio, Moss and Senna are legends. Schumacher was a legend until his "comeback."

If we've never heard of him, he's not a legend. Doesn't make him less good, just less famous.

I do agree with all of your statements, becoming a legend does not happen with just a few championships under your belt.

Although, in this day and age it is much tougher for an upcoming athlete or whatever u want to call them to get recognition due to the skill levels these days and I feel that the older "legends" are not as talented as the contenders these days.

Point taken, but lets say you take a Schumacher and put him in the same car that Fangio drove. I don't think that Schumacher could have been as good as Fangio was. Then again, I don't think Fangio would have been as good in Schumacher's car either. This comes with the technology differences. So, to compare the contenders today to the legends of old and say they are not as talented, may be an overstatement.

Then again, this is one of the oldest discussions of all time too. Like, "If Ali were to fight Tyson, Tyson would of killed Ali." That kind of thing.

U have a valid point!
