Hello All,I was just checking out some of the videos, awesome stuff.Curious,I noticed that the rear steering was working independently of the front steering.Do you folks use pistol radios still or stick type radios?? What equipment are most using for their crawlers? Thanks fellas

I use a JR XR3 3 channel FM, it is a pistol style radio. Independant rear stear using a small thumb toggle switch on the grip. A lot of people use the Traxxas TQ3 and modify the 3rd channel to have a 3 position switch for rear stear.

it's actually personal preference.if you like a stick radio a 4 channel would work good.i like the pistol style radio's .i have a jrx3 and an airtronics 3p-modded with a togle switch for the rear steer

I have the Hitec Laser 6 twin stick (I prefer the twin stick type). This radio is a FM ground freq. 6 channel (you only need a 4 channel), but it allows blending and limiting of the steering channels. One added advantage to this set-up is the "infinite" range of steering in the rear just the same as in the front, whereas with the pistol type you have either full left, straight, or full right. It just depends what your preference is. Each type has its advatages/disadvantages. I grew up using a twin stick so that is what is most comfortable for me!

A good chunk of us are running modified Traxxas TQ3 radios. We have modded the 3rd channel with a 3 position switch so that it can be used for the rear steer.

Thanks all for the replies, I have a new TXT thats been on the shelf for sometime, and have been contemplating building it into a crawler.Gathering info and options at this point. Thanks again to all.

Yes, i was born and grew up on LI. Moved out here only about 1 1/2 years ago. Definitely allot more crawling out here. Unfortunately, the main reason i moved out here is now gone, cheap real estate. Oh well, no one ever said life is fair!
