I live in Upland, too. Im near campus and the 210. I only have one battery but I try to go up at least once or twice a week to ranger station or trout ponds. I have never been anywhere else. Do you know of any other good spots in the city?

Hot a group of 6-7 rigs headed up to the ranger station at the bottom of Badly today.if you interested ....roll out. We will be running north side of the ranger station

That was a fun day. I showed up real late. Here are some pics of the Ranger station run and then just me up at the trout ponds for those of you who have not been up there.

The trout ponds are my favorite now. Nice trails along the creek and some big rocks!

Here is how to get to the trout ponds from the 210. Park on the left side (west) and trails and rocks are to the west near the stream, like 10 feet away. You will need an Adventure Pass to park here. You can buy them at Baldy Lodge, Trout Ponds, etc. I suggest buying the 30 dollar year pass and a 5 dollar second vehicle year pass. Passes are good for Angeles, San Bernardino, Los Padres, and Cleveland National Forests.
You do not have to exit Baseline and go backwards and take Mills/Padua, as some have done

Same info for parking at the Ranger Station area. We aren't at the Ranger Station but we are near it so we call it that.

It's finally here! The first race at Glen Helen RC Raceway in Devore, CA.

With all the awesome Wraiths, Twin Hammers, custom built KOH/rock racers and SCX10/Honchos out there, a rock racetrack just seemed right. Keep an eye on this thread for further details.

*EDIT *4/22/13*
We will get everyone out on the track in a class. This being the first event, we are leaving the classes fairly open. We want to see what type of rigs are showing up to race and adjust the classes accordingly for the next event...... So if you got it? Bring it!

Here is some more quick info.....

Classes:
1.9" OPEN = for rigs clad with 1.9" tires. shaft driven, electric powered.
2.2" OPEN = for rigs clad with 2.2" tires. shaft driven, electric powered.

Run Time: Expect to run at race speed for 10-15+min per heat race, and up to 20min+ for the Main.

Timeline:
8-9:30am sign-ups, tech, open practice.
9:30-10am Driver's meeting
10am Heat racing starts!.......

Race
Schedule:
1.9" Heat Race(s)
2.2" Heat Race(s)
1.9" LCQ Race
2.2" LCQ Race
[Break time]
1.9" Main Race
2.2" Main Race

This first event will most likely be manually scored. But we are working to secure a transponder system for scoring in the near future. The Glen Helen RC Facility has a snack shop on hand, a restroom, and a rental shop for the "go-fast" guys.

RCP Crawlers will be on hand should you need any extra parts! And believe me you will, so stock up now!

Apparently Forest Falls was today and not tomorrow. Sorry guys. I didn't go either

I got two new battery packs so hopefully I will go tomorrow to the fire ranger station or trout ponds. I spent all day helping my gf move, with a small s10 pickup!!

Oh, that's how we do it here? I saw you liked my posts and I didn't know why. If you subscribe to the thread and turn off email notification in settings you can go to your UserCP or Subscribed threads and see what threads have been posted in. I don't know if you know that

I don't know what time I can get up there. I may be helping my gf move some more stuff, blahh. I'm going to charge my new batteries now

It's even easier if you turn on subscription in settings and set it for no email notification. Then you become subscribed to a thread just by posting in it. But choose no email because it will send you a million emails if you don't!

I don't know if I can make it today. I will probably have go but it may be later. I'm helping my gf move until 230 then cleaning the garage and then I need to solder deans plugs to my new batteries,,, if I have any female deans left over from my last build
