Rant about mayhem engineering wheels

Ok so I placed a order for a set of 2.2 wheels on the 20th of last month. I get a. Email on the 21st saying they got my order and ill get a email when order is comete.. On the 24th I get another email stating my order was completed and they will be shipped out that following Monday..... So I wait....... Nothing so I email them asking them for a tracking number or any info on my order.. They reply after already telling me my order was shipped that my wheels are just now going to th plater and should be back by Wednesday and be shipped out by Friday... So again I wait. .. I email them yet again trying to get a tracking number or anything.... I was told via email reply the plater had a issue and they wouldn't have them back thill the following Wednesday again.. And th would be shipped out .. Well I'm still waiting ...

This is really starting to bother me . For the lack of info on anything with as much money as I dropped with them. Them telling me they where shipped. In the first place then back sliding to they are at the plater.....THEY ARE NOT PLATED , they are aluminum wheels.. Wth? And then problems with the plater...?

And still to this day , I'm still in the dark about my wheels that I had hoped to have this past Sunday for a comp.

Anyone else have this issue with them? Any advice? I'm tempted to cancel the order and buy else where....

Man This is All Painfully Familiar... I Had The Same Experience,, & After a Few Months The Wheels I Received were Wrong Due To a Mis-Communication..after some More Time The New/Correct Wheels Showed Up...Its a Shame ,Because the Quality and Finish of The Wheel are Top Notch..But Because of the Lack of Customer Service During The Few Months I Wont Do Business With Them Again...Good Luck Man,, I Hope It Goes Smooth From Here For You...

Get your big boy pants on for this...

Mayhem is a small company who works on their spare time to make products for the crawling market. They have full time responsibilities that take precedence over custom orders.
Every set of Mayhem wheels is a CUSTOM order unless they list them in stock ready to ship.
Its been 10 business days since you ordered them. Give them time. They are worth the wait.

They may be slow to return emails as they are flooded with other work during business hours.
If you ordered raw aluminum wheels, they should not have needed to go to the plater but if you ordered colored rings or whatnot then plan on waiting a bit.

You obviously have not dealt with custom small niche vendors before and it shows
Perhaps before jumping the gun next time and posting a public whiny ass rant you could have emailed them again

Dan admitted that the plater had problems and they would likely be shipped today. Do you realize that it is still 1:00pm in CA? Maybe he hasn't gone to the PO yet or created a shipping label.

He has kept you updated on the whole process yet you continue to bitch.

But why tell someone that their product was shipped and then change their mind? I just like to have somewhat of a updated other than we are spose to have them back ...if they have a different set in stock , they could let me know . I'd be willing to pay a difference on order to get wheels sooner...? But when you have nothing to work from what do you do...no big boy pants needed here...

Well for you to get made at me for making a comment is understandable. But also got to look at it from my side of the table.. I sent you money...was told they were shipped.. Still nothing... When I do get info ,its limited..
Customers get bothered by these things...

I do apologize for that . I'm not ashamed to do so . But if you were a customer like me , you'd kinda like to know where your money is going.. Would you not?

You could have asked them if they had something else in stock. Its is not their responsibility to give you an option unless you asked for it. You ordered a specific set of wheels so they were working to get you what you want.
Mayhem is a good and reputable company that has served out market very well for several years. They have always had outstanding products at great prices.

Cheap, fast, or good. You can only choose two out the three options.
Cheap and Fast will not be good
Fast and Good will not be cheap
Good and Cheap will not be fast

I sent emails asking for this option.. Never heard anything , even sent a email Monday about getting a contact number to try and speak with someone about my order .
 
WOW!! Sounds like I'm reading my story.

First, really REALLY like my wheels!!

Second, when I ordered mine there was some problem with the system or server or something so a receipt was never provided, but my order was processed. In response requesting status of my order 10 business days later I was told it would ship out on the obligatory 'Friday'. So another week from the stated Friday goes by and I receive a email with shipping information, a complete 7 days later on the following Friday. I believe I received the wheels the following Tuesday. So from purchase to product in hand it took 20 business days (not including weekends/holidays).

Thanks I will respond , once again I do apologize for jumping the gun.. And naming calling . When I read about someone waiting months for his order I guess I let the emotions get the best of me .

I was just about to slam you on here for the name calling BS but you def showed some class with the above post. I do not know Dan and Debbie personally but I own more than 10 sets of Mayhem wheels and they are quality, custom made products. No they haven't always showed up in two days like an order from RPP but that is all together a different story...

Perhaps a disclaimer stating "this is not fast food, quality takes time" on the Mayhem site would stop some of the rants...Mayhem Wheels Rock!
 
Dan and his wheels are great! I love my mayhems. I plan on getting another set very soon!
