Hey crazy_crawler,

When you say you, "im not looking for the ducted fan style" what do you mean? Ducted fan is very close to scale other then going to a real jet motor. I think you might be thinking of a pusher. Thats where you have a motor on the back with a prop. That dosnt look scale at all! It its a real jet your looking for thats going to cost $8,000 to $20,000 dollers...

Check out RCGroups... Its an online forum like RCC but its mostly air stuff. www.rcgroups.com also known as www.ezonemag.com. There are areas where they talk about nothing but ducted fan stuff.

Also check out, www.hobby-lobby.com. They have some nice looking and flying ducted fan planes.

Do you fly right now? If your thinking about getting a jet style plane for your first bird i would really look at other stuff befor jumping into a jet...

I would love to have an rc jet or warbird but after lots of research I went with the Hobbyzone Supercub. I have had success flying helicopters but this is my first plane so I am trying to play it safe. I have been told that rookie + jet or warbird = lots of busted foam.

E-Flite Blade CX and a Airhogs Havoc Heli. Both are a blast. I started witht the CX because it was a trainer. I have heard that the collective pitch helis, although more realistic, can be tough to learn on. I bought the Airhogs as a gift for my brother and ended up getting me one too. For 25 bucks you can't beat them.

Thats great! You did the right thing by starting out with a plane that fly's very well and is easy to fix. I work at a hobby shop and we sell more HobbyZone Super Cubs then any other plane. Who ever told you jet or warbird for a rookie dosnt mix is 100% right! Most people just want somthing cool looking to start out with but the cool looking stuff is just plan hard to fly.

R/C heli's... Blade CX. The best heli ever made. Easy to fly. Easy to fix. Easy to get parts for. Ever thing about it makes it one awsome fist heli. It gives you the time to learn what way you need to move what and lets you get your orientation down. Orientation is 90% of lerning how to fly a heli.

I have only been flying helis for a few months now but here a few vid's,

Yeah I have enjoyed the cx. It does all I want to do which is just hover around the garage and a little outdoor flying on calm days.

As for the Supercub, I can't wait to get it. Its a Christmas present from parents who are too generous. Me, my brother, and my dad are getting one. I did a little research and found out that the Supercub was painted olive drab and re-designated the L-4 grasshoper during WWII. So I guess technically I am a coat of paint away from a warbird.
