rc top truck

well we could restrict some of the supers by limiting what they use like unlocked front or rear or both stuff like that. but i don't think that will blow over well

they would have to be scale rigs, could have 4wheel steering and would have to be voted in. Jason i see a mag artical in the future."thumbsup"

how many trucks should we let in do ya think? i was thinkin along the lines 0f 15-20 but that might be a little high. i figure we could just make a tcc sticky with all of the entrys in there with a breif description and a pic. then set it up like a poll and have the top what ever number we allow in.

I think this a a great idea Joe. Problem I see with only 15-20 competitors is, how do you think you'd (or anyone) would get sponsors for prizes, money for covering expenses, etc? How many people would drive/fly any distance just to watch the event? I think this idea needs to be talked about more. Get plenty of feedback from people here that would be interested. Maybe make it into be a 2-3 day weekend event with eliminations and as many guys (to a manageable limit) as think they're truck has what it takes to be " RC Top Truck" champ
That way entries would help offset alot of the expenses. And I think more people would be interested in attending if they were running in, and not just watching. Just some of my .02 on this.

EDIT: if it were decided to do a voting entry, and only 15-20 competitors. I think it might be better to just ad this event to an extra day of the Nationals. Even know it isn't really crawling, it's semi related.

there could be a East and West coast eliminations then the winners face off at a central location .
Only problem I see is it should be stricly scale cuz in the real TTC there were some tube buggies.
The braking/accelerating test got replaced by the trail fix contest . ie : they have to pull a front axle and replace it. there was 2 classes D-06's and Rockwells . mabey Colds and TLT's , hand tools only. my2cnts.
gotta keep the tow test thats my favorite .

Just decide on a location and then let anyone who wanted or could afford to submit an entry. Set a deadline for entry, then open up the voting allowing say the 20 as competitors and 3-5 alternates. That way only people who were serios about entering would enter. You could probably get some of the RCC vendors to sponsor different events or maybe just donate some really cool prizes for the top three winners. Also the scale idea would probably work better because it would be a "scale" version of the real TTC. You would also have to set the scale (1/10 1/6 etc) because the size would give an advantage in some events like the pull with the larger scale.

i'm not really sure about sponsors. i figure that vendors could help but beyond that idk who we could get. any ideas on who would even consider sponsoring?

as far as prizes go i thought about it and to make it worth the trip we could maybe have a truck, trophy, and some cash. but then we gotta think about how the prizes are gunna get paid for. possibly donations from sponsors?

Entry fees, thats why you need more then 15-20 trucks.
The vendors that donate prizes, are your sponsors.

well if theres dirt . someone could bring water in (coolers , buckets, ect)
and bring a shovel . or if its near a river , steam , ect .
dig some big holes and pour in water . (tank traps).
Dumptruck tonka toy filled with mass weight for the pull .
almost wished I built a scaler just so I can build a TTC course in my back yard.

Rock race, Mud trench, agility(set up cones in a parking lot), 2 different crawler courses, and maybe a mix of all of them for th final?

There could be a few classes;
2.2
1.9
Trial Truck class?

No limitations on modifactions, they woud only ave to be based off of a production truck (FJ40, F150, Jeep, etc) , frame rails, realistic suspension, so on and so on.
