Hey guys,

I was wondering which tire is better.

Rc4wd Mud thrashers: OD: 3.9"

Or

Rc4wd Dirt Grabbers: OD: 3.8"

I like the look of them both, and they are about the same size. The price is the same. If you guys could help me figure out which is the better tire for most terrain fun , it would be great.

thx "thumbsup"

One is designed after an all terrain, one after a mud terrain. So one is going to have larger lugs which generally means more bite. The choice is really up to you though.

I think the dirt grabbers are more like a radial something u use on the street and light wheeling. The mud thrashers would give u better offroad performance something u would see on a more offroad oriented truck

Thats good to know! "thumbsup" i know what tires im getting then.

the mud thrashers are comp winning tires, cant go wrong, and if you mod them just right they wear even better and grab like no other on rock"thumbsup"

the AT's (dirt grabbers) are OK tires and super scale also but not near as good off-road... get the thrashers IMO.

thrashers = BFG Mud Terrains (old school, b4 the KM2's)

Grabbers = BFG All Terrains (great 1:1 sand/multi purpose)

I like the mud thrashers better but the dirt grabbers are not that bad of a tire. There is a video of my scx10 with 2s lipo and a 35t motor make it up a steep muddy hill climb with dirt grabbers.

Thanks man. like I said before though, the mud thrashers are a better tire but the dirt grabbers still work nicely. I switch between both of those tires on my Toyota.

i am aware this is an older thread but i couldnt help myself i have experience with the 1:1 versions of these tires. in mud the dirt grabbers need a lot more wheel speed to clean the treads than the mud tires but do well if you have wheel speed. the dirt grabbers are great in snow and sand they used to be popular on baja trucks. there are a lot of 1:1 tips on how to cut both tires to get even more performance out of them i have even seen both do great on rocks

I do have wheel spin:mrgreen:

And may have more soon...

Thanks man, I think i might go with Tomahawks just 'cause they are $5 cheaper:mrgreen:

Ya they look really cool, but the diameter is too dang big! I do like the way they look and perform though. Maybe i will just wait for the 1.5 bulls to come out.
