Hey guys, just picked up some metal badges from RC4WD/CCHAND and noticed that there is no adhesive backing to them, only metal.

What did you guys do to fit them on your TF2s? I might try super glue but I am concerned that it will be messy and uneven....

I used some fast set ca glue on mine, I put them on a piece of blue painters tape added a thin layer of glue and stuck them on, allowed them to dry and bam! The tape is just a way to help you hold them so you don't glue them to your fingers and next thing you know your a hilux4X4

Before (sanded down for a more flush look)

After (just test fitting before paint)

I use canopy glue. dries clear and sticks ok if it is a very clean surface, but at the same time you can remove it later if you want without damage to the body.

Thanks, I'll try using painters tape tonight...

+1 for not becoming a Hilux4x4 :lmao:

CA works fine, and an x-acto blade behind will take it off if needed. I like a medium to thick CA for this type of application so that it doesn't run and maximizes the contact area. "thumbsup"

Nice trick using painters tape to keep the glue off the emblem and fingers...makes me wonder why I didn't think of that, lol.

One question about the painter's tape... if it is placed over the badge, how do you align it with the truck properly? Would you just remove the tape first and then hope the glue hasn't dried before that?

Well, they ended up not working out... Does anyone know where I could find some with an adhesive backing?

I picked up a set from ebay not metal but plastic with a clear layer over includes 2 toyota 4x4 2 hilux 4x4 and a toyota grill emblem for around $13 canadian i think the seller was customcuts from germany they are adhesive backed and fit nice
